@HandsHurtLoL Yes that is right. Perry was appointed to DOE, the agency he wanted to abolish. Tillerson was installed at State so that he could dismantle it, which he did. All part of the Bannon "burn it down" theory of Government

@TrinityTek Hi - its not the mods at r/liberalgunowners who removed your post. I've been in touch with the mod there and when I made a similar post about Kbin last week it was removed by the Reddit admins, not the sub mods. They wanted to let me know it wasn't them. Spez has been doing all sorts of shit like that, Its one big reason why I'm done with Spezzit. Post in the m/liberalgunowners magazine here on Kbin-social.
@TrinityTek I feel very confident that it is not the mods that took your post down. Like I mentioned my post was taken down by Reddit admin, not the mods. The head mod at LGO has been checking out Lemmy and Kbin as potential alternatives. He is concerned about the lack of mod tools here because they get trolls from everywhere. You can check on the LGO wiki for their approach, but the mods feel like they are fucked once the third party apps end. Recommend you DM him on Reddit. Also, understanding mod tools is beyond my technical capability but the way we can help ourselves is to put the tools in place that will give the LGO mods confidence that we’re a viable alternative. They recognize that gun related subreddits are not in Spez’s plans and there is a community being served that vitally needs help.
@xptiger wanted to say that the mod team is actively looking for alternatives but as I mentioned they feel that they need much higher functioning mod tools to be able to make the switch
@vaprz Sorry this happened to you. I'm not surprised. Mods are going to be thrown over the side at an accelerating rate IMO. The protest is indeed hurting F u/spez otherwise he wouldn't have to do this. My opinion is that he will do whatever it takes to try to get his numbers back up and his ability to sell Reddit and buy his island depends on it.

@Pookie1804 Thanks for posting this recipe! Carbonara is a family favorite. I make mine a bit differently (for example I use pancetta rather than bacon and olive oil in place of the bacon fat). I'm going to try your version next weekend.
@Phoeniqz If Reddit is only announcing the hack now then that is very likely going to be a legal problem in a number of US jurisdictions, not to mention EU and others.
@dismalnow having the code out there that Reddit uses to track accounts doesn't give me warm fuzzies. I'm not a technical guy but it seems that it would be better if that code had not been hacked and put in the hands of people with malicious intent. I have to defer to others on whether the hack compromises Reddit users' security.
@Phoeniqz it depends on the jurisdiction, but my understanding is that a breach is a breach. If no user data was compromised, then that is good for users and Reddit is potentially facing less liability. I understand from the responses in this thread that Reddit did announce the breach.
@dismalnow Maybe I should try that before I delete my Reddit account...at least the taint part. A parting gift to F u/spez. I think you proved my point. There a lot of people that read the revised terms of use and privacy policy when those came out and have an appreciation of the ramifications, but I suspect that a sizable percentage of Redditors do not. So as we are both no doubt are aware there are data-brokers that will piece together information in what we used to call a "mosaic approach" to create a profile - which is in part the cause for my concern.

@cendawanita The last thing anyone needs is that F*k Zuckerberg here in the fediverse. I just got here after leaving spez's imploding site - getting Zuck instead is a demon nightmare of harvesting data at a level that spez could not imagine. I'm too new here to know what P92 is but whoever is executing an NDA needs to have their access cut off or at least fenced in and then the project needs to be attacked like a biologic against a cancer growth.

@QuietStorm Fishing: it gets you outside, and helps you learn about the natural world as a participant, not just an observer. You don't need to spend a lot to get started and its often best if you go with a friend. I always practice catch-and-release and the experience is a morning or evening of peace.
