Yep on kbin you can subscribe/block domains so anything from that domain will show up in your feed. This works for instance domains and general websites that people link to as well. Its good if you want to block whole instances rather than asking the admin to defederate.
Maybe this has been asked a million times (I didn't find it... links and useful search queries are appreciated). But how should I deal with a toxic friend in a group?...
I think your first course of action would be to bring this up with other members of your friend group and see how they feel. Have they also noticed this behaviour? Do they have any ideas how to deal with it? It will be easier to help this person if you work together. Just make sure you don't seem like you're ganging up on them. Maybe you can approach them with your concerns and then another friend can bring it up separately some time later. If you want to help always approach with kindness and love.
When I implemented bokeh depth of field I stumbled upon a neat blending trick almost by accident. In my opinion, the quality of depth of field is more related to how objects of different depths blend together, rather than the blur itself.
I recently decided to start taking on the challenge of selfhosting and curating my music collection. Letting the admin of your server know your opinion is probably the main thing. I don't know about lemmy but kbin allows users to block domains and instances just like blocking users or magazines/communities so that may be an option.
Someone I know has a bathroom that is not GFCI compliant, and I was wondering if it is possible to have a shower thatβs humid enough to allow electricity to transfer, or would at that point would the air be inhospitable to breathe in.
You can think of voltage as the force that pushes electrons through a substance. Different substances have different amounts of resistance which blocks the electrons. However with enough voltage you can overcome that resistance and push on through. Lightning for example has a very high voltage, as it travels through air which is not very conductive.

I have very limited background in programming. I quite want to develop the game myself, or with only minimal help. Is there one language that is better than others for game development, or is more versatile?
Whichever language you know. Games tend to be fairly complicated and learning a new language while also learning how to do graphics/physics/audio/etc... can be overwhelming. I'd recommend using whatever you know to make a simple game like pong or space invaders to start with and then move on to more complicated things.
To be more specific about your question, I'd look at what languages the popular game engines use.
Unreal Engine uses c++.
Unity uses c#.
Godot I believe uses a custom language called gdscript which is similar to python.

I saw a while back that facebook is opening a twitter competitor which will use the ActivityPub protocol, and thus will be able to federate with other fediverse instances, I also saw they invited some fediverse instance admins for an βoff the recordsβ meeting in their HQ....
From what I have seen there is some division in the community regarding federating with meta. Some people are willing to give them a chance and some are very much against. A lot of server admins are making an agreement to preemptively defederate from meta which is a stance I definitely agree with. Meta has had too many scandals and violations of user trust for us to trust them again. We should keep our distance.
