I'm looking for PC games that I can play while listening to podcasts- games that don't have engaging cut scenes or important dialogue, games that honestly don't require a lot of skill or thought....
Also in the truck driving bucket - Snowrunner. The focus is on off road trucking, mud and snow physics, with a winch that you can use to unstick yourself.
I live in a country where manual transmission is the default. I drive a manual and I'm fine with it. This idea of fake manual transmission is bizarre to me. Who is it for? Car enthusiasts will know it's fake and avoid it and surely your average driver will not care and would actually appreciate the simplicity of automatic transmission.
There's no reason to do that with an electric motor (as far as I know). It would only reduce the efficiency. Maybe it's something that the car enthusiasts could get on board with though?
As many others here, I have accumulated a bit of a "backlog" over the years, consisting of games that were cheap to pick up on sale, games that I have/had general interest in, or new game releases. Whenever a new game came out, I felt kind of urged to play the new game, drop everything else, and quite often end up not picking up...
I really hate the FOMO that often seems to be part of the marketing for many games these days. Pre-order bonuses, limited time events, and keeping up with the meta are all off-putting for me. If your game is good then it should be possible to pick it up 2 years after release and still have a good experience.
I set up this 'Magazine' because I recently started exploring the Fediverse and I'm excited about it's potential. I was looking through my Reddit subs and saw that, though the opinion on the Yogscast sub was split, there was no Reddit-like alternative for people to turn to (sure, there's Discord, but it doesn't work the same).
People are free to go where they wish but it's important that those dissatisfied with Reddit have somewhere to turn, so spread the word!
I bought a lift-top coffee table from a big box store almost a decade ago. It's entirely particle board and has seen better days cosmetically, but it's probably my single favorite piece of furniture. It's immensely practical for meals, using a laptop, or just bringing your remote/drink/whatever closer to your hand when laying...
I still have a second hand IKEA desk that I bought off a guy from work when I first moved to the area and had no furniture. It's just the right size and has a keyboard shelf on rollers which seems hard to find these days.
I can actually feel the lack of bots, AI replies and chatGPT comments in the threads. I cant exactly pin point it to a specific trait or writing style but you can feel the humans behind these comments....
There was a time when I would avoid Steam versions of games as much as I could because of the bad interface and frequent crashes, but they continued to improve the platform year after year until it became a model of what a games platform should be.
I'd still slightly prefer to buy on GoG due to it being DRM free but I recently got a Steam Deck so the ease of use begins to tip the equation in favour of Steam again.
Every time I have to solve a captcha I'm forced to confront unresolvable semiotic edge conditions. Is the post that supports a traffic light itself part of a traffic light? I just don't know. I am inadequate to log in.
I just used the word "nice" (lemmy.fmhy.ml)

What phrases have you pinched from your favourite Yogs?
I can't look at any of my male cats now without channelling Osie and saying, 'Oh, he's such a BOY!'....
I'm no artist, but I thought Kbin could use a mascot. Shall we all create one together?
Casual game recommendations?

People in the subreddit seem to be voting to stop boycot. Does this mean yognoughts want to live under spez's foot?

What's an inexpensive or low-quality item that you ended up loving and keeping for years?

For me it's got to be Ross's over aggressive denial.

Kingdoms and Castles is a great city-builder but it seems Lion Shield want to do something a bit different, so they've revealed Nova Roma.
