Probably for the best that they cut themselves off from the Internet.

Sounds like this cop needs to be out of a job. What an asshole you have to be to threaten a bus driver, of all people

20% chance this man goes viral and actually gets elected

Nah, oftentimes the school police officers are still allowed to have them to shoot the kids with. And don't forget some states have tried to arm teachers.

We're going to need a lot of them, they're only worth $10

If you're making software for actual end-users, you HAVE to give it a goddamn GUI, or else you suck, your software sucks, and nobody is going to use your damn software.

You see this shit SO much more often than you would think. And the infuriating thing is, it seems to be most common among programs that are INCREDIBLY complex and sophisticated....

I don't have experience to add to the discussion, but it seems like this is a genuinely unpopular opinion from the comments, so it gets my upvote

It's a very special anniversary for me: I haven't had solid food in my stomach for six months as of 9:30 this morning. [This is a very long rant, please no medical advice.]

Before I begin- Again, please no medical advice or suggestions. I am going to the Mayo Clinic in March and I will get their advice and I am just going to ignore any medical advice posted, sorry. Please no pity party either, I’m just angry and need a a place to rant and vent, that’s it. Feel free to ignore this post and move...

Yeah, sounds like you are a real life zebra. I'm hopeful that you can get some answers. Looking forward to a future post celebrating them.

I hardly dream so I guess I would say "it's a dream when I wake up afterwards"

What would you rather do? Fine them six years worth of prison fees plus lost wages? How proportionate a response is appropriate?

There are already plenty of companies that sell managed data removal like this, Mozilla claims to be doing it better and perhaps they are incrementally more trustworthy than the smaller no name ones

Florida parents say 2-year-old was restrained during Rosa Parks reenactment at day care (www.wesh.com)

ST. CLOUD, Fla. — Parents of a 2-year-old in Osceola County say their daughter, who they believe is the only Black child in the class, was made to play Rosa Parks in a reenactment that included her being restrained by another student in a police uniform and fingerprinted.

What is wrong with the title? Genuine question. It seems to represent the content of the article pretty accurately.

And yet it gets the screen reflection in its eyes, and the light cast on its fur, convincingly correct. Wild

Seriously. SEO shouldn't even have been allowed to be a thing. The right thing to do from the beginning would have been to scale up manual reviewing and start warning/banning sites that tried to manipulate PageRank. I guess hindsight is 20/20, but I'd like to believe there was a time when Google wasn't yet evil enough to not care.

Make an income out of content creation while retaining your privacy?

It's been a while since I started my privacy journey, but there was something I always wanted to do even before I started to care about my privacy. I always have loved the idea of having a blog to talk about different things that I am interested in, and creating content of value for others, and not gibberish content full of SEO...

According to the dictionary (turns out they do exist) the term "recluse" means someone who tends to avoid other people, so hopefully you can see why it's reasonable for there to be some overlap.

Recommendation for webcam that doesn't push its software?

Hi, I’m on Windows 10 at home and Windows 11 at work. I’m going to migrate to Linux for my next PC (might eventually do it on this one, though I’ve currently done so many tweaks that I intend to keep this for gaming for now). Our two laptops and mini-PC already run Linux Mint, but I digress… (I just don’t want anyone...

I got this super cheap camera off Amazon a while ago, it doesn't have software or any special drivers. You just plug it in and Windows sees it as a generic video device.
