Akkomane is an alternative to #Mastodon and #Threads that provides incredible stability with a beautiful and futuristic Twitter-like front-end for the #Fediverse.
I have launched akkomane.social to demonstrate this software’s unique capabilities.
Currently, I’m capping memberships to 20 people (not bots). While membership preference is given to those who’d like to build and maintain an Akkomane server, everyone is welcome to apply! More membership slots will be available in the coming weeks.
This is not the point. The point is #freesoftware goes beyond rivalry between people. There's no meaning to exclude some people when the value is the source code.
@atomicpoet@fediversenews Can't sign up due to the capcha not providing a visual alternative. I am not looking to host my own though so you would probably not get to me for a while. Thought you should know though! Looks like a cool project.
@atomicpoet Thanks that's very kind! I will take one, if you are offering. I am mostly just looking for a place to post from that supports quotes and markdown that also federates with Threads. My current instance does not do these things. I am still happy where I am though, and since threads does not federate both ways, it is not a priority yet for me to be active there. So I would probably not be the kind of power user you are looking for at this stage. But if you don't mind, I don't mind! :)
@husky is much better than Tusky while using a Pleroma's fork as fedi server. For example, it supports chat and emoji reactions you can't have on mastodon
@atomicpoet Cool, thanks! I will check it out. I'm also curious to see how well Ivory works with it since you mentioned that Mastodon clients ought to be able to work.
@atomicpoet@leopardboy correct I believe Chris put a list of clients it works well with. If you prefer iOS it works with Maser, Feditext (beta), Fedicat (beta) and Sora
