Ran into my first issue with Ubuntu, GNOME Tweaks made my system act up on the X session but not Wayland…Of course, this issue happened just as I needed to be out the door!

However, on my way to work I figured out how to reset my mouse cursor to default. A CLI command while not logged in will correct my mouse issue. I will uninstall GNOME Tweaks as it doesn’t play well with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.

Today, I made a lot of progress in Red Dead Redemption 2. Arthur died a lot today due to those Lemoyne Raiders who execute the worst ambushes in this game! It is a nice challenge when I am ready to get jumped but Arthur is always putting away his guns and that gets him killed. So many stranger quests were carried out in addition to the main quests; I indulged in playing more this morning due to putting off a cleaning session until tomorrow morning.

ROFL Of course Sony would make PSN a requirement for their two PC ports, shooting themselves in the foot while running is so clever! A non-starter for me, I won't buy either game even if they decide to make it optional. Can't reward their foolishness.

A few months ago, I saw a post on here. I don't remember if one of you posted it, or if it was a boost from somewhere else. But, it said something along the lines of:

"You are not buying bottled water, you are buying plastic bottles"

Now, I thought about that for a long time. And I started to be put off bottled water. First, certain brands Nestle and then bottled water in general.
Yesterday, I bought a water pitcher and filter. We are gonna try this for a bit and see how it works.

ID Appointment accomplished; my new picture is a jump scare but at least I am good until at least 2040! My clerk was friendly and fixed the fact the JR on my name wasn't on my ID. I didn't need to bring all the things that I gathered...Since I already had Real ID on my card. The appointment took just 10 minutes, I think the cost went up as it cost me $27.00.

Also, I found out I qualify for permanently mail-in advanced ballots because I'm HIV+ so I will get that done ASAP.

LOL, I hate it when an appointment later in the day puts me in a state of not being able to play games or do anything beyond watching videos or writing casually (can't focus too deeply). For a valid ID, I will deal with this annoyance. I will need a valid ID to vote in Elections or resisting shitty Republican additions to the state/federal level laws.

I feel that the only way AI can become a real thing is for human beings to pour more effort into the Neurological and Psychological disciplines of study. How can you build something that is sentient without first fully understanding the human mind? That's clearly the framework developers are trying to implement, in order to respond to users appropriately. I might be wrong with this thought, but, it feels like the right direction.

ROFL The hardware will likely be the main selling point for the new iPhone 16, not the LLM without guardrails additions to the iOS 18 software. I wish the writers would use the correct term, AI is still a techbro fever dream!

In ten or even 100 years, perhaps LLMs will become an actual AI. Till then, LLMs is still the right term. The developers of AI are simply laying the groundwork for future developers, as this is a multi-generation effort.

The Lemoyne Raiders are total bastards with their ambushes, it didn’t help that Arthur’s back guns get stowed in the horse for some insane reason! It lead to Arthur’s untimely end because his bolt action rifle and pump shotgun weren’t within quick reach.

That’s player hostile game design, constantly making the player question if they are equipped with the loadout they designated for usage after riding their horse. There should be a toggle to turn that poorly thought out mechanic off. #gaming

I played more Red Dead Redemption 2 today, taking a brief break to eat dinner! This game has some rather good missions, amusing banter between friends and outlaws. Chapter 3's story is goofy, thrilling, and overall entertaining due to the plot evolving as it is.

The sad thing about the Marvelous Game Showcase is that nobody ran 'Diligently Under Development' by any native English speakers. 'Dud' is all that I see every time I read that subtitle and it's driving me crazy. The games they've shown off so far look interesting.
