Everything with the new machine age dlc is absolutely wonderful. The game feels much more balanced, combat more immersive and the whole machine systems have been completely reworked with incredible depth and role playing. Definitely one of my favorite for the game.

Mathematicians describe points on the plane with coordinates (x,y). The first coordinate says how far 𝑎𝑐𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑠 you go and the second says how far 𝑢𝑝 you go. Then they describe entries of a matrix Mᵢⱼ with indices where the first says how far 𝑑𝑜𝑤𝑛 you go and the second says how far 𝑎𝑐𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑠 you go.

In each case I've had teachers who insinuate that this is the only reasonable thing to do and you'd have to be nuts to dream of doing anything else.

I think some teachers don't distinguish between facts and conventions. Actual facts are always worth thinking about - understanding them more and more deeply is a never-ending quest. But for arbitrary conventions, you should just memorize them and move on.

@gregeganSF @johncarlosbaez It means that the distance the y axis was "given" in the diagram depended on how the x axis was set up. They only measure in one dimension, that you can move in, so things are relative to a fixed point. Think of it like drawing a map where your house is the origin and everything is described relative to your house. So things like "six blocks due east" are valid directions. Hope this helps!

I find this story both absurd and wild. Having an exhibit that flips is amazing and creates a space for people to see the effects of discrimination against women. I think we need more of this if we are actually going to try to create equality in our society. But seeing a man sue over "discrimination" is absurd. You knew what you were buying a ticket for you ass.

Was so excited to get the a day early. Though I did have some problems (software meltdown, sim card slot discomfort) I can gladly say I managed to flash posh to it.

Today I watched two people get turned away from the clinic I go to. They both were told very loudly (I'm on the opposite side of the room) that their wouldn't cover them and they would need to pay out of pocket. Both walked out of the clinic with no care.

This is disgusting, incredibly immoral and absolutely unacceptable. The horrors of the are real when people are refused care for lack of money. People need to live.
