Somebody has made a Super Mario Maker for the #N64 called #MarioBuilder64. Pretty awesome full of tools for making your own Mario 64 stages. Yes, it works on real hardware.

Going through my old stuff in my dad’s attic and I found this. RE2 on #n64 I think it was the only RE on n64 and the only N64 game with loading screens.
@Leeisme Kind of impressive they made it work at all on the notoriously small #N64 cart. The #SNES likewise had very few loading screens; one that comes to mind is Mickey Mania
I got this used #N64 as a gift. Unfortunately it doesn't give me a picture, despite the original AV cable and the dirt inside being removed. Can anyone help me?
I experimented with subdividing a skybox quad by hand but keeping its UVs intact. Followed by baking a new small texture in the new vertex positions to give more texels to more detailed regions in the texture.
It produces an interesting result but I find the sharp details a bit jarring. Maybe it would work better as a subtle effect.
@mrpablington I want one so badly. And I will play it. The N64 & SNES get as much use as the Switch in my household, and my personal N64 is broken (partners’ still works so we shuffle it from room to room…)

I was reading an old 64 Magazine courtesy of @OutofPrintArchive and ran across this word. It was the first time I had run into this word and was interested to read the etymology and current usage. I find it funny that the dictionary lists it as British English but then shows three usages of the word in American publications. 🤷♂️

However, lead developer Martin Hollis suggested it be a 3D first-person shooter for the Nintendo 64, a system and technology that didn’t even fully exist yet 」
This one was like if Populous and Tetris had a baby. You dropped blocks on a map to create mounds, the aim being to hold water that fell from the sky. Lose too much water and it was game over. Naturally, hazards rocked up to ruin your work, including water-freezing ice cubes and smashy earthquakes. Most games that tried to evolve Tetris were a damp squib. This one made a splash.
Painting the system went a lot more smoothly than my first attempt with the controller - I got a much more even coat with a totally non-sticky finish at the end. It helps that you don’t need to handle a console as much as a controller, though :P
