@fabian no newline, but without user@host, git info on the right prompt, and a few optional prompt segments that appear when needed like the status code of last cmd, shell level, number of bg jobs..
And the current prompt is a different color compared to my old prompts.

@fabian I used to be no newline. But as you add more info newline is easier

@flub yeah, that’s what I’m observing rn. Also I have usually at least 2 columns in tmux.

At my home/gaming PC I have no newline; at my work/programming PC I have one. It probably also depends on how often you are in git directories vs. how often not. So, "power usage": NL; casual usage: no NL. On the other hand, vertical space is also valuable… 🤔

@flub copy-pasting a command is also slightly easier when it’s on its own line.

@fabian There shouldn’t be a newline. The should be a single space at the end of the promplt though, so that what user types isnt up against the prompt

Me, of course, with my indecision issues, I have both on different machines I use daily. 👀 (tending towards with newline rn)
