And indeed it's meant as a kind of ironic answer to Eurovision. This time with real human musicians, not necessarily and like 100% of the time not sponsored by the record industry or battling super producers.
Often but not necessarily be done among amateurs or semi amateurs, always 100% dedicated to their own music. And it's happening here, within the #Fediverse. There is a voting system to find a winner. However anyone taking part is already a recognized as a winner.
That should give you an idea. I'm not associated with the organizers, I'm just one of the participants. I hope I explained this right, else I'd ask @futzle to correct me, or getting more into detail - as she is one of the main figures of this positive movement.
#fedivision2024 is over, time to pursue new projects. Thanks for the incredible 15 votes we got for our song! Also, we are very grateful to the organizers, giving us this wonderful event once a year!
It was a lot of fun, both as artist and as listener; especially the love, spirit and community of it all. See you next round!
You can now find ”Living The Dream”, my official #fedivision2024 entry which made the top 10 (at number 9) out of 72 tracks \o/, at the following fine locations:
Monsters'n'Mermaids made it into the #fedivision 'top 40' 👍😊
I was totally expecting the famous "Nul points" so a big thanks to all in #fedivision2024 that slipped a vote my way. The whole thing was great fun and "big lurve y'all" is due to everyone involved. As dear FZ said, #music is the best.
This link 'should' let anyone that wants to listen and/or download for free at my Nextcloud server... if not let me know.
This year’s champion is Keef Marshall, who records as Key 13. His song, “Misaligned Ardvarks,” received 50 of the 911 votes submitted by account holders in the fediverse, a network of federated servers that are used to communicate with each other, share messages, music and more.
The top 10 finishers were announced today by FediVision organizers, who added that a more expansive write-up is coming soon (check back here for a link to that when it becomes available).
Here are the top three vote-getters in this year’s FediVision Song Contest.

We hope you had a chance to enjoy some of the light hearted overwhelmingly warm and supportive artist and friendly fedizen sharing and discourse for this years FediVision.
In line with the event organisers and their schedule, RFF will keep the pop-up channel running for the next week.
Everyone who submitted a track and moreso everyone who shared some feedback and fun around music, art and community are winners! Still, keep an eye out for @vote to countdown the "top 10" vote receiving tracks.
Did you know there is a music competition on the fediverse called Fedivision? Lots of entries this year, spending part of the afternoon listening and voting for my top 3.
I would have been happy to vote for any and all of the tracks in the above thread (edit: see next toot), but I whittled my list down to these final four
What a cruel system #Fedivision2024 is for someone as indecisive as myself. Plus, my musical preferences are so mood and situation dependent, so this could have turned out very differently if I had voted another time...
Anyhow, the three tracks that stood out for me during today's travel listening marathon, and which I have therefore chosen, were:
