Larian announced yesterday they've removed Ability Score Prerequisites for multiclassing from Baldur's Gate 3, breaking 5e basic rules. How do players / dms feel about this? Personally, I hope it doesn't make everyone a jack-of-all-trades. It's nice to have unique qualities within your team of adventurers. #baldursgate3#dnd#larian
Spent a couple hours with #BaldursGate3 today. I love the dialogue animations. The characters feel like characters instead of talking heads spewing voice lines. It's one of the few games I've played in a the last year or so that feels "next gen" (whatever that means in 2023) in fit and finish.
ROFL I couldn't see the player having sex with any old bear, which would be awkward as fuck...Wildshaped Druid, kinky but acceptable in my books.
The lead up to the scene feels so natural too, which is why I wanted to share this niche article. Larian Studios writers have far better writing chops than the likes of Bethesda who would absolutely mangle this scene.
I'm surprised this hasn't had any crossover discourse since PC Gamer talked about it in an article.
"Have you ever considered the joys and pleasures of sexual congress with a wildshaped Druid?" propounded Baldur's Gate 3 lead writer Adam Smith alongside today's showcase. "Because at Larian, we have, and ultimately landed on the side of giving the people what they want: tender, consensual romance with a man temporarily transformed into a grizzly bear."
This quote took me out, I fucking cackled for a few minutes. The full article is linked below.
#BaldursGate3 wird 75 bis 100 Stunden für schnelles durchspielen und ca. 200 Stunden, wenn man alles sehen will, dauern, sagt Sven Vincke von #LarianStudios im #IGN-Interview:
“Between 75 and 100 hours, that's what we're seeing,” Vincke said. “That's not doing everything, that is just going to be a playthrough. There will be people who will be way over that, the ones who want to do everything. They will probably hit 200 hours, I think.”
