“Those are the real dividing lines, but the more #ResourceDependent a given riding is, the more likely it is going to be susceptible to #Conservative messaging.”
I lost these sunglasses & my hearts/pearls eyeglass chain in #CampbellRiver on #VancouverIsland - they're a unique set so if you see someone wearing them around the island - they're wearing my stuff.
The #fundraiser is held at 18 gas stations up & down #VancouverIsland from #Langford & north to #CampbellRiver . The fundraiser works by donating $0.05 from each litre of gas sold at any of the gas stations on Sept. 19.
“We are so grateful for Fuel good Day and the support it brings to Island families. For 36 years, we have been making dreams come true for children with life-threatening/critical conditions,” said #HelpFillaDream executive director Craig Smith.
[A Campbell River landmark during the town’s early years, the Willows Hotel served both an international sportsfishing clientele and the rough and ready loggers from isolated camps. This permanent exhibit shows the Willows’ façade and entrance through which visitors step into the hotel lobby as it would have appeared c. 1914]
Mom & I went to check out this place while in #CampbellRiver . I don't recommend it. Very overpriced goods in there - I know Asian food pricing very well.
I also wasn't impressed with how the owner was bitching to complete strangers/customers about how awful homeless people are. I didn't have enough spoons to make a scene there. She's a colonized capitalist & lacks compassion for vulnerable folks. She stared at my cane too;likely an ableist atop.
Not my kind of #POC#Asian 👎
This #Thunderbird#Bear Pole was inspired by a pole carved by Sam Henderson in the 1960s. This pole was #carved by Sam’s son Bill and grandsons Junior, Greg and Will.
We met this friendly little native boy by the riverside. As I was coming down the trail to the riverbank, he grinned & then told me he's going to catch me with his net 😂 He was with his Dad, fishing. Little dude wanted to show us the little fish he caught in his net. He released it after.
I stalk #bees even when away from home. While Mom was having a bathroom break, I wandered into fields & saw tiny patch of red #clover blossoms. Then, saw a very determined #bumblebee who was so focused on their #pollination & feeding job that they were rather oblivious to my giant human presence. I got these wonderful photos 😍
We had a lovely stay with the Kaardals in #CampbellRiver 😊 Their #GetawaySuite was fab for me & Mom. Very spacious, well stocked with essentials & hosts were fab. Our package included 4 hrs wildlife tour & $100 restaurant GC. Suite was nice & cool & located in quiet area. We slept so well here!
Our hosts: Kathy publishes the What's On tourism magazine on #VancouverIsland & her husband publishes #CoffeeNews for central & North Island.
One several photos I took of Mom, doing her fave beach scavenging thing - collecting rocks & driftwood.
By time we left Campbell River, half of our trunk was filled with rocks & other half with driftwood. Mom was saying, if she had a truck & a tow line - she'd be taking home larger driftwood pieces 😂🤣
