"A group of Jewish writers drafted this letter after seeing an old argument gain new power: the claim that critiquing Israel is antisemitic. Editors at a corporate-owned magazine were prepared to publish the letter, but their lawyers advised against it." #CeasefireNow#FreePalestine#GazaGenocide
GPLB: "Leaders of two Labour councils in Lancashire, Afrasiab Anwar (Burnley) and Asjad Mahmood (Pendle) have issued a statement saying Starmer should resign." Thirty seven councillors have now resigned since last week.
Kieth's got another "big speech" this afternoon. Curious to see what bullshit equivocation he'll come up with to brush this off. #CeasefireNow#Labour#UKPolitics#FreePalestine
"The way this is reported in the Western media is as though one needs a PhD in Middle Eastern Studies to understand the basic morality of holding a people in a situation where they don't have basic rights"
Ta-Nehisi Coates, speaking after a visit to the West Bank.

Employees should be supported in making such decisions by trade unions and by anyone (you can organize any kind of help) who understands the topic. It is known that many of them will make decisions from the heart, but people should feel safe. It is not the same caliber of decision-making when a celebrity refuses to be a face of a product. Here, people often have to risk their be or not to be but their resistance is so important. We need to support each other and be together! Especially in times like these. ❤️
My take on Israel/Palestine, if anyone were to ask, would include condemnation of Israeli apartheid and genocidal warmongering but would also center the fact that, truly, it’s time to appreciate the diaspora because all that contested territory is likely going to be uninhabitable within a few short decades, and I say this with family in the Negev #ClimateDiary#NotInOurNames#CeasefireNow

Turns out Simon Schama has tweeted worse things than incorrectly identifying a chant at a sit in.
Here he is on the pro-Palestine marches in London every week.
"Dozens of Jewish protesters gathered in St Pancras Station station about 7.45 this morning, and held shacharit (morning prayers). Some wore cloaks and carried banners saying: "free Palestine" , "never again for anyone", "Jews say ceasefire now!" as they called for an end to the attacks in Gaza. One group said: "Stop bombing Gaza. Not in our name."
Most of us just don't have the bandwidth. We're so horrified by the constant news of the death and pain and suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza that we forget there are still hundreds of innocent Israeli citizens being held hostage.
"“It was one of the saddest days in my humanitarian work.
For people in #Gaza, UNRWA has become the last remaining lifeline for survival as the markets are empty. Water, food, medicine and fuel are running out fast. Every day becomes bleaker as we continue to lose colleagues. Where will this end? More than 70 UNRWA colleagues have been killed since 7 October, often along with their families"

Rachel Riley's "clarification" of her "they're shouting jihad" tweet. She stands by her 'sentiment', which is to find antisemitism everywhere, and to cancel the Jewishness of anyone who disagrees with her.
