Drove a long way off road to see these ancient carved stones. They are presumed to be tributes to nomad leaders. The site has several stones of differing shapes.
I was surprised to find that the Gobi Desert isn't just sand dunes and camels. Upon arrival here it rained buckets for a few days before clearing. The vastness creates a feeling of soul-searching isolation and calm.

There's a spot in the #GobiDesert where sunset briefly casts light on the face of these cliffs. On the day of my visit it was cloudy and it appeared that I was out of luck. But as there was a fleeting moment where the sun broke through. I have tweeked the brightness-contrast to make the shot more attractive to me.
