At @djangoconeurope 2022 @kojoidrissa introduced the concept of a "Contributor Mentor", (roughly) someone who guides aspiring contributors on their way.
@djangonaut embodies that in the role of "Navigator".
Having watched the first program, I think it's a key link. Having that person who can give the little nudge makes the difference.
It's a light-weight, well scoped!, way to give back. Could you be a Navigator—a contributor mentor—for aspiring Djangonauts?
I'm really excited to watch the Djangonaut Space program continue to develop. I think it's great for the Django community, and is relevant to the wider open source community as well.
A friend is looking for a mid or senior #django engineer for a short term contract with option to extend to long term/full time. DM or paul.biggar@gmail.com
I just updated my #django tutorial on using email and creating a contact form. It shows how to do it locally and then in production with providers like SendGrid, mailgun, SES, etc.
I read this article about Firebase misconfiguration (via @simon ) and I think we don’t make enough of the “secure by default” that Django does for us. We should shout about that more.
Oy! Today, it's the 10 year anniversary for #Django PR#2692 🥳
It's definitely worth celebrating how the good forces were victorious against all the loud mouth conservatives/trolls. Since my office is full today, I might need to get both a primary cake and a replica cake for redundancy 🍰
Congrats and thanks to @fcurella and everyone else involved in this.
