🇬🇧 Today, the European Parliament agreed to create an EU Health Data Space #EHDS against the votes of #Pirates, selling out patient rights. This means:
Healthcare providers can access our health records without our consent
No right to opt-out of cross-border access to our health records
Big Pharma, Big Tech and government institutions will have access to our identifiable (pseudonomised) health records without our consent, even to DNA, psychotherapy, sexual disorders etc.
We don‘t even have a right to object to such access under national schemes

Heute Nacht wurde ein fataler Deal zum EU-Gesundheitsdatenraum #EHDS geschlossen: Er bedeutet den Kontrollverlust von Patienten über ihre Gesundheitsdaten.
@crazy2bike Die EU-Verordnung #EHDS zwingt die elektronische Patientenakte auch privat Versicherten auf, die sich nicht dagegen wehren. Es gibt aber eine Umsetzungsfrist von mehreren Jahren.
European Parliament and Council just agreed on the final text on the European #Health Data Space #EHDS. And it is not good enough by far. Selling out patient data for secondary purposes, not even with a real opt-out.
EU Council on ambassador level just confirmed the #EHDS#EuropeanHealthDataSpace agreement from last week. Next: Vote in @europarl_en committees, then plenary end of April.

✊🏾 We are calling on MEPs to stand firm and insist as a bare minimum on the right to opt-out for everyone in the EU when sharing their personal medical records with third parties.
