The requires a 70% to pass licensing tests.

This appears to be, in large part, because the tests are absolute garbage. They are ambiguously-worded, they have questions about ratings you're not even trying to get, and the charts they provide have larger margins of error than the gap between answers.

If this test weren't so incompetently assembled, they could require 90% to pass and have more qualified pilots as a result.

The is a deeply troubled agency and I think the "reforms", whatever they may be after the 737 MAX scandal, will come up hopelessly short.

Sadly, the FAA is probably the most robust agency under the US Department of Transportation.

Agencies like the (the agency responsible for highway and vehicle safety) might as well not even exist.

Secretary Buttigieg has been profoundly disappointing on this front.

Putin's henchmen jam GPS of civilian aircraft. The GPS-jammer affecting aircrafts around Estonia is located in Russia, about halfway to St Petersburg from Narva, Estonia.

This can be shown by plotting the highest density of intersecting radio horizons of jammed aircrafts on a map.

GPS-jammer operating around Estonia and recently famous for causing the brand new Helsinki - Tartu flight line to cease operating.
Putin will bring down another jet. This monster must be detained.

Well that's neat. The latest CSS I've got to handle colored silhouettes apparently does work with animated custom emoji. I was worried that I'd need a different approach to handle those.

I've gotten the HTML down to

<span class="recolor" style="--color:#FAA">cat 😸
  <span class="img-mask">
    <img data-v-160ae9b2="" class="mk-emoji custom" src="https://cdn.kitty.social/_/1304ef08-fe2a-46f3-b351-29ee65d9b372.gif" alt=":neocat_googly_blep:" title=":neocat_googly_blep:" decoding="async">
  </span>
</span>

where the img is unmodified from what Firefish outputs for an emoji and the <span class="recolor"> works without needing to be broken up around nested emoji. The <span class="img-wrap"> still has problems in the CSS but I consider this progress.

At least, it's progress unless I decide to give up and go with an SVG filter primitive for increased readability.
