One of the fun gardening experiments I've indulged in this year involves seeing what dried beans / seeds -- that I love to eat -- will sprout! So far, organic popcorn, dried green Edame soy beans, and lentils have sprouted! And all of them are a few years old! #HomeGardening#Gardening#Seedbanks#Homesteading
My container-grown lettuce is doing nicely despite repeated freezes. Now if only I could convince the squirrels to stop digging in it. I swear, there are no acorns buried in there! 😆
I forgot to take a before picture but I finally thinned out my broccoli patch. A little sad but I think my snails will be happy #gardening#homegardening
Did some #gardening before work…mostly one quick repotting and then some pruning…but I did finally get around to starting these lavender seeds. Still have to wait three weeks until ‘Mowvember’ (haha) but it feels good to plant something, especially this late in the year. #homegardening#containergardening
My boyfriend’s mom gave me the avocado plants she’s been growing because she pruned it out of necessity and it made her sad, and she didn’t want to split them up. So, meet Giuseppe and Donatella! #plants#gardening#homegardening#avocado
I’ve been posting occasionally about my #tomato plant and its delicious fruit. Well, much to my chagrin, some other creature discovered them yesterday and ate all but a couple. I’m disappointed, Fediverse - which one of you told them about it? #HomeGardening
I planted some jalapeño seeds from supper the other evening! They’ve had a couple of nights in the pot but still no little sprouts. Google says I should wait about a fortnight, so fingers crossed 🤞 All four of my scallions have sprouted and are zooming upwards, I think I might have my first harvest soon! My mint plant Carrot has taken quite well to the new pot. My task today is to do some pruning I think. Finally I gave Santiago the echeveria a little haircut and repotted him. To my surprise there was no soil and he was completely rooted! He is back in a full pot and seems to be doing much better now. His younger sibling Oliver has gotten a bit fried by the sun (oops) so I gave him some TLC and moved him into the indirect sun. He is in between my basil plants and seems to be just a bit happier! Today is a bit overcast which is a welcome change from yesterday, here’s hoping I can get this done before any rain. #HomeGardening#ApartmentGardening#ConcreteGarden#HerbGarden#succulents#plants
I don't know where to start. I started out in the electric utility industry then moved onto cyber security research. Currently I'm responsible for product security for a smart building company.
I’m having a great time growing my own food. Now it’s time to try some greens I might have eaten, but certainly not heard off before. This is Red Frill Mustard. If you have tips about what dishes to put this in, let me know. I’m happy to hear about your experience.
