Courtney Love has just launched a new eight-part series about women in music on BBC Radio 6 Music and finished her memoir, "The Girl With the Most Cake." She also recently marked the 30th anniversary of both the death of her husband Kurt Cobain and the release of Hole's seminal album, "Live Through This." The Evening Standard's Dylan Jones talked to her about Taylor Swift ("not important"), Madonna ("I don't like her and she doesn't like me") and whether she's an English lady now.

Thirty Years Later, Kurt Cobain’s Death Reminds Us That Success Doesn’t Mean You’re Okay
It's not too late to get help.
#KurtCobain died 30yrs ago today. It seems more recent than that.
By the 10yr mark, I was nearly halfway through a year in Iraq. Heavier Than Heaven, bio on Kurt, and the With The Lights Out box set were part of my deployment inventory.
Mentioned in the bio, one of the happiest times of his short and volatile life was in Hawaii. Even one of the greatest singer/guitarists of our lives can agree: Hawaii truly is heaven on Earth.
Here's a lesser known #Nirvana song to mark this day... 🤙
I’ve seen several post marking the 30th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death with songs from Nirvana’s unplugged set.
Unplugged is fine and good, outstanding even, but I offer for your consideration an In Utero era version of Drain You, my personally fave song from Nevermind, on a French TV show when Kurt’s guitar malfunctioned midway. RIP.
Kurt Cobain died 30 years ago today. The Independent's Mark Beaumont looks back at Nirvana's live performances, from their first Seattle shows in 1988 to the final gig on March 1, 1994. "Many shows in Nirvana’s brief seven-year existence were true rock’n’roll riots: scenes of wild, cathartic release – not only for the punk and rock fans enthralled by Cobain’s pain-wracked strain of melodic grunge but also the band themselves, who attacked every set as if fighting their way out of a tumble dryer," he writes. Did you ever see Nirvana live? Share your memories in the comments.
Courtney Love published his journals that he kept in spiral bound notebooks. the book may be out of print but the copy i read showed how he was unschooling himself in feminism, antiracism, anticolonialism but most interesting, capital S and A socialism and anarchism.
"The capitalists are finally allowing supposedly subversive, alternative thinking bands to have a loan of money to expose their crusade. Obviously they aren't forking out loans for this reason, but more because it looks to be a money making commodity. But we can use them!! We can pose as the enemy to infiltrate the mechanics of the system to start its rot from the inside. Sabotage the empire by pretending to play their game."
Today is 30 years that #KurtCobain died. He changed the music landscape forever and was an important part of my growth. Cheers, Kurt, sic tibi terra levis.
Can’t believe it’s been 30 years since we lost #KurtCobain He was the voice of my generation & someone I still think or and miss regularly We were gifted so much but I can’t help but think of how much more he would have created
If you are feeling like life’s troubles are too much reach out for help Call or text 988 to talk w someone
After years of misogynistic hair bands and mindless pulp I vividly remember watching MTV and seeing Smells Like Teen Spirit for the first time and I knew the music world was about to change and I was 100% ready for it #Nirvana#KurtCobain#IWantMyMTV

If Kurt would be alive today, I bet he'd write happy pop songs every few years but mainly doing pencil art or some such. Gosh, I would love to see a happy 57yrs old #KurtCobain
