Hi, hello! I'm looking for a new #Mastodon client for iOS and would like to know which one you use and could recommend. Free is nice of course, but I'm willing to spend a little money if it's a really nice app. :owi:
🎉 Celebrating one year since my first contribution to @moshidon! Over the past 12 months, I've added dozens of features and improvements, in 66 pull requests and 291 commits (porting some of them over to @megalodon in "only" 39 pull requests). In total, I added ~17k lines of code. Looking forward to another year.
Please, please, PLEASE folks uploading #photos to #mastodon, be mindful of the size of the picture and file you're uploading. First, we have to store those large #images, and second, extremely large images don't do well with the native image preview function. Have been seeing it a lot recently, and makes me wonder if a particular third party app is at fault.
Also, if you're a #MastodonApp developer, please take a moment and check that you're not dumping the full size image onto the network. Let's help each other out here. It looks better, and we admins aren't paying to store images that don't need to be that big!
This week we're testing a new tool called the Mastodon Scheduler to automate our posts. It's self-hosted, doesn't expose itself to the internet, and runs as a background service so you never have to worry about keeping an app open.
If you tried @mammoth previously, I'd recommend taking another look today as version 2.0 is released. It feels like it has been rebuilt from the ground up. There are some new interesting features, like the Smart Lists that are curated by people, not algorithms. Also - it's finally going open source tomorrow!
Continuing work on notifications in my Fediverse application #Pipilo. Added color highlighting and small animations that appear when there are unread notifications.
Also seen is a new layout for images that displays whole alt text under them.
Disappointed that the updated #MastodonApp app only seems able to attach photos, but not snap them. I hope that’s a short term issue. Back to Fedilabs we go.
In #MastodonApp, I really miss an immediate #Translate button for posts with foreign language mark. Don't feel like going to context menu to get a translation.
Why doesn't the official #mastodonApp have the lists feature yet?!
If it's one of the basic features of #Mastodon, why was it excluded from the mobile app to begin with?
On the one hand, one needs to follow a bunch of people in order to get a full and interesting post feed (in the absence of any algorithm).
On the other hand, in order to have a consistent and meaningful interaction with a reasonable and selected group of people, one needs a feature like that!
And don't tell me to choose one of the many other #mastodonApp options... those should build upon basic #Mastodon features, providing users with customized and enhanced experience (by adding extra features).
