Hi, hello! I'm looking for a new #Mastodon client for iOS and would like to know which one you use and could recommend. Free is nice of course, but I'm willing to spend a little money if it's a really nice app. :owi:

Boosts are appreciated. 🙂

Does any current Mastodon iOS app allow an instance admin see when a new user signs up like via a notification?

🎉 Celebrating one year since my first contribution to @moshidon! Over the past 12 months, I've added dozens of features and improvements, in 66 pull requests and 291 commits (porting some of them over to @megalodon in "only" 39 pull requests). In total, I added ~17k lines of code. Looking forward to another year.

@MonaApp is my favorite new .

I've tried at least eight iOS apps so far, including my two former faves: Tooot and IceCubes.

My favorite Mona features:

  • very easy to hide/show reposts
  • one-click translate button
  • lots of features, but all quietly hidden away till you need it
  • fast pace of development

Mona would be best-of-class if it supported at least two more features:

  • @phanpy's awesome display of reposts
  • @tooot's perfect support for tweaking server-side filters

Please, please, PLEASE folks uploading to , be mindful of the size of the picture and file you're uploading. First, we have to store those large , and second, extremely large images don't do well with the native image preview function. Have been seeing it a lot recently, and makes me wonder if a particular third party app is at fault.

Also, if you're a developer, please take a moment and check that you're not dumping the full size image onto the network. Let's help each other out here. It looks better, and we admins aren't paying to store images that don't need to be that big!

This week we're testing a new tool called the Mastodon Scheduler to automate our posts. It's self-hosted, doesn't expose itself to the internet, and runs as a background service so you never have to worry about keeping an app open.

Learn more about it here: https://github.com/glenn-sorrentino/mastodon-scheduler/

If you tried @mammoth previously, I'd recommend taking another look today as version 2.0 is released. It feels like it has been rebuilt from the ground up. There are some new interesting features, like the Smart Lists that are curated by people, not algorithms. Also - it's finally going open source tomorrow!

Mammoth will be released under AGPL on Friday Dec 8. To support their work, in-app subscription called Mammoth Gold is available

I couldn't find a good Mastodon toot scheduler, so I'm making one. Here's a preview - I'd love your feedback and collaboration!

Continuing work on notifications in my Fediverse application . Added color highlighting and small animations that appear when there are unread notifications.

Also seen is a new layout for images that displays whole alt text under them.

I was trying to break the @IceCubesApp optional AI generated alt text bot and thought I had the perfect challenge. But it handled it well, I admit!

I love this feature of where you long press to boost, like or post from other accounts, even if you’re browsing from a different one. Handy.

Are three between user interfaces out there I might want to try?

Disappointed that the updated app only seems able to attach photos, but not snap them. I hope that’s a short term issue. Back to Fedilabs we go.

In #MastodonApp, I really miss an immediate #Translate button for posts with foreign language mark. Don't feel like going to context menu to get a translation.

Why doesn't the official have the lists feature yet?!

If it's one of the basic features of , why was it excluded from the mobile app to begin with?

On the one hand, one needs to follow a bunch of people in order to get a full and interesting post feed (in the absence of any algorithm).

On the other hand, in order to have a consistent and meaningful interaction with a reasonable and selected group of people, one needs a feature like that!

And don't tell me to choose one of the many other options... those should build upon basic features, providing users with customized and enhanced experience (by adding extra features).
