Been doing a VU deep dive since reading the new #loureed bio earlier this year and while I have had extended love affairs over the years with the first two albums (and Loaded of course), I can’t stop coming back to this one and questioning previous opinions of “best”. Of course, there’s no correct answer. This is an early 80s polygram pressing. It’s a hot stamper and it sounds fantastic. 1970, le #velvetunderground termine sa courte carrière avec un superbe dernier album Loaded, sur lequel on trouve notamment Sweet Jane, un hymne rock intemporel. Lou Reed et ses copains se séparent peu après. Ici une version interprétée par Lou Reed sans le VU en 73.

1965. Les Beatles sont au milieu de leur carrière, les Doors et Jimi Hendrix commencent à peine sur la cote Ouest. A New York, ca bouillonne deja dans la factory de Warhol.
Il réunit quelques jeunes musiciens qui veulent expérimenter des trucs (et pas seulement dans la musique). Une révolution se prépare. L’album sortira en 1967 et passera quasi inaperçu. C’est aujourd’hui un classique.
