The LPI #Lunar Summer program is open again for grad students (from anywhere in the world) interested in lunar science and exploration.

I was part of this program back in 2009, which was a lot of fun, despite the fact that we watched Constellation get cancelled from under us. This should be a much better time to get into lunar exploration, and a rare opportunity for non-US students to get their foot into the NASA door.

Best analysis I've seen so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ka5id7ZQKL4

Was there perhaps a problem with the fuel feed system, I wonder?

Also, is apparently beginning to doubt if Starship can still meet the deadlines and get its licence + human rating in time.
Frankly, things are not looking too good for either or right now. Jim Free doesn't seem happy or even hopeful at all.

Here is what SpaceX has to develop/test for Artemis 3 human lunar landing -
Launch a storage depot to Earth orbit (using Starship)
Launch tankers with propellant to the storage depot (using Starship).
Launch Starship human landing system (HLS) (using another Starship).
Refuel in earth orbit.
Travel to lunar orbit.
Transfer crew from Orion to HLS (Orion with crew launched by SLS).
Land.
Liftoff.
Transfer crew to Orion.

We have a long way to go, Baby.

I noticed the app for Kbin no longer works and after some digging it seems like the developer burned out

It's unfortunate to see, and is a reminder that we can't take the and our developers for granted!

@kkarhan oh, have I got news for you! In 2025, the game plan is to have land on the Moon with scientists to do research. And they're doing a manned flyby around the moon next year.

https://www.nasa.gov/specials/artemis/

Also, ISRO (the Indian agency) is planning manned missions to the moon for the late 2030s. So it's heating up again!

As for fixing problems on land... yeah, that's an ongoing project. The nice thing is, investment in research and space does net some really good outcomes for Earth.

It's becoming hard to argue, even for fans, that the company would be able to meet the Artemis III schedule of 2025 given the Starship delays.

's Jim Free said delays to Starship have inhibited other parts of the mission, since NASA’s spacecraft Orion and the spacesuits being developed by Axiom are designed to interface with Starship.

And don't blame it on the FAA, is the "move-fast-break-things” company of aerospace
