Had a pretty busy day doing prep for the upcoming LOTRO event.
Before crashing out for the evening I started trying to write in the style of my world, but digitally. And man, it's difficult. Drawing and colouring I'm just getting my head around.
But I have shaky hands, and #calligraphy is NOT forgiving.
12 letters in an hour and half of them need redoing.
(Context: this is for my own fantasy creation/ #worldbuilding and has nothing to do with gaming).
A Chinese calligraphy exhibition by Malaysian calligrapher Jameson Yap. Sort of like a marriage between the wilder forms of Chinese calligraphy like 草書 and Jackson Pollock’s abstract art. Traditional calligraphy purists will hate this.
BeeCycling @beecycling Do not seize the day. This will startle the day and may cause it to become aggressive and give you a nasty bite. Instead approach the day calmly without making eye contact, pet it gently, and slowly enfold it in a careful embrace If the day shows any signs of resistance to being engaged with, it is likely to turn on you. The ink in the pen (a pilot parallel) is Van Diemen's Night Sky: Shooting Star, but even with one anchor snapped off the pen so that the nib plates are looser to allow for pigment, it flows a bit thin, so I dipped it in J Herbin Emerald of Chivor. They're both similar inks, blue-green with gold and a purple sheen.

The narrow pieces like the first image are about $40, the full thick borders with illuminated letter (like the "Bollocks" image) on A4 is about $100, other prices vary.
Prices are in USD and include shipping, but from South Africa, which can take a month or more to arrive overseas.
