most people don't do the right thing even when it's obvious, but that which serves their immediate interests. look at people switching to other closed platforms. their own selfish math should tell them these platform owners too will squeeze them when they become dominant and have the power to do so with little cost. #enshittificaton
when will the popular people recognize their power to act collectively and permanently free themselves (and us)? #fediverse
None of what I’ve said here should be taken as a defence of #capitalism BTW, it’s simply an observation of actual reality that so called “free market conservatives” are rarely capable of even recognising, let alone dealing with. Incidentally the same #BecauseCapitalism reality is what drives what @pluralistic calls #enshittificaton and it’s always as bad as he suggests.

Bought a new phone. Transferring stuff with the Samsung utility worked quite OK. The only apps which are completely copied over including all history and even the notification sounds:

All other apps had some issues. All these are ad laden user data gathering behemoths.
