You can stop giving hotels money out of pity.

Major hotel companies Marriott International and Accor each recorded more than $1 billion (US) profit last year. Marriott actually made more than $1 billion profit just last quarter, $3 billion for the year. Other big hotel-owning corporations, such as Choice Hotels, also made a lot of money.
