also love #comics especially #webcomics and #satire . Not really into superhero type comics, unless they're the newer ones like the "New 52". I prefer self-contained series with a little bit of weirdness to them like Saga, Rat Queens, and a bunch others I can't remember the names of right now. Often I'll go to the library and check out a fat stack of whatever comics they have, mostly standalones though since they rarely have multiple comic books in a series available in sequential order.

News is fairly thin today, so have a picture of a bracelet (the thing I do besides news). A four strand memory wire bracelet, alternating beige stones with different types of agates running pale to red, spaced with blue and gold seed beads.
On my tumblr page, I have three other pictures, an amethyst bracelet and set of amethyst earrings, and a turquoise blue colored one.
As my escape from our current dystopia, I made some more bracelets (for those new to my feed, this is one of the ways I stay mentally balanced through all the news). Here's a pic of my latest.

Have a picture of a bracelet. My first craft show a week from today, and my focus here may seem elsewhere...I was going to shut down the workbench last night, sat down to reach a lamp, and the next thing I know this carnelian and glass pearl bracelet appeared in my hand, one bead at a time...

I've gotten a lot of new followers this weekend, and I thank you. You might wonder how I can spend so many hours scanning the news without going bonkers. When it gets too bad, I go down to the basement and craft things. Nowadays, it's mostly jewelry. From time to time, I post pics of them. Here is a pic of my most recent pieces, using memory wire and beads.
Spent a good bit of the day at my workbench hiding from the world outside and experimenting with wirewrap techniques. Only finished one piece today, a bracelet made on memory wire, a play of white, gold, and two types of purple seed beads
So this is what I was working on while hiding from that nasty world out there today. Not the greatest artwork, but experiments in technique. The earrings are simple: Amethyst beads spaced with gold colored spacer beads on a teardrop frame.
The left bracelet is a thin chain decorated with dark iridescent seed beads, copper disks and small bells. The right bracelet is an experiment in technique: wirewrapping, using pre-made links and a bead frame.
