I’ve been having trouble with my connection to climatejustice.social for a few days now. 😕
Starting Friday afternoon all I got was error messages — the home page would not appear. On Saturday I was able to connect intermittently but still with frequent delays and more error messages. Today (Sunday), I can’t connect at all using Firefox, my preferred browser, but if I go back to Chrome I am able to see my home page and make posts, like this one.
I do not want to use Chrome if I don’t have to. Does anyone know the cause of these problems? Am I doing something wrong, or is it perhaps because my instance might be trying to do an upgrade? Any help or advice would be appreciated!

If we're supposed to use camel case for our HAsh Tags so screen readers can parse them, why do all the "suggested/autocorrected" hashtags on the website and the apps exclusively use lowercase letters?
There's some synergy missing here and it's frustrating, especially given how hashtags are basically mandatory
I‘m following a number of hashtags and was forever wondering how to do that somewhat more efficiently as there are some that combine well, like linguistics and languages.
Ideally it should be possible to create a list based on hashtags but so far I couldn’t find a way to do that, neither in the web interface nor various apps.
Today I realised that the IceCubes app has a hashtag grouping feature and it allows me to see a feed just for a selection of hashtags - and I don’t even need to follow those from my profile (meaning I can keep my main feed clutter free).
Most of the time, when I try to refresh a post or go to the comments in a thread, it takes a ludicrously long time for it to load… like, 1996 28.8k modem slow. Five minute waits are not unusual, and that’s not an exaggeration. I feel like this is not something that should be happening in 2023. Ok, still discovering what this site can do and I love that it's not a dumpster fire like the elongated muskrat site, but something I really miss is the ability to "quote tweet". Is this a function that exists here? Using Tusky app on Android fwiw. #mastodonhelp
Also, is there an easy way to use gifs because they are one of life's great joys
So are favorites not really used on #mastodon? I thought it was the equivalent of a "like" or "upvote" and would be the default interaction. But poking around I'm noticing wayyy more boosting over favoriting? Is that a thing?
Trying to figure out how to check the #Mastodon version of my instance while I'm logged in.
I can do it from a (logged-out) private tab, visiting the landing page, looking to the bottom left, but there must be a way to see it while logged in too, no?
Looked around Preferences page but no luck.

EDIT: Aha - click the 3-Lines button to reset the Advanced UI's right-hand-side column to the "getting started" pane, then it is shown there.
#MastodonHelp I'm struggling with the new Mastodon layout in my browser.
Links and attached images are now previewing in a shouty way (HUGE and overwhelming the post). I've tried turning off the colour blurring and hiding media, resulting in occasions where a single post takes up the whole of a desktop screen with just the poster/time details, a 'media hidden' button, and white space.

Any assistance would be useful … I am on World server but cannot seem to have the web login page work for me? https://www.mastodon.world/ isn’t giving me a login screen. And that’s the only URL that web searching gives me. And using this Mastodon app doesn’t allow me to add my alt text to photos which pisses me off.
