I was surprised to find even this much of a lay phone left standing yesterday. Having just re-watched The Matrix, I thought I'd tint it green and call it "No Exit."
One of the last pay phones I ran across... (my photo). There is a sign on it saying "Out of order, use phone at fire station", however. #payphone#photography#phone
Let us look now upon this artifact from a time long past. It appears to be the remnants of a "pay phone."
While the wires and core mechanics itself are long gone, the frame has survived the test of time. It is amazing what was created in the long, gone past and how technology has advanced where such an item appears obsolete to a modern person.
Sorry, I can't help being silly when I see old pay phone shells and the like. I grew up with them and still find it wild how they're all gone / my kids will never know what it's like to use one.
