I finished this shawl/scarf this afternoon. Made with Cotton Kings Sultan Shadow, it's nice and lightweight. It's unfortunate that I will probably have to wait til the Autumn to actually use it in earnest!

Hot off the hook last night! I still have a lot of yarn to use up, and I wanted to make a cardigan to test a pattern I wrote up for it a while ago, so I know how much to buy if I want to make any in the future.
I'm not a big fan of most of the colours in this, so it will likely just be one for wearing round the house in the chillier months, but it's a good proof of concept and helped me work out the weight of the finished piece!

Earlier this month, I finished a large blanket for a work friend, but when I was purchasing the yarn for the blanket, I managed to wildly over-estimate how much yarn I actually needed.
So the progress on my aim to use up my stash got pushed back a bit by having another 12 balls of yarn to use up.
My solution? Another blanket!
This one is a bit smaller than the other and will likely be about right for a single bed or as a lap blanket.

Carolyn,

2/2 I have plenty of my own already, so I'll be holding a giveaway/raffle type thing for it to go to someone who wants it so if you want it you should keep an eye on my socials!

I'm having a closing down sale on the Etsy shop - 75% off all orders over £20 until the end of May. Due to the abundance of dropshippers and the changes they've made, its not worth it for me anymore. I may move to another platform, but I will see how things go.

Before anyone gets excited, this baby bonnet isn't for me - a friend is expecting, and I'm putting a few bits together before she's due, so there will be a few more baby things coming along in the near future. Only trouble is, it's a summer baby so there won't be a lot of knitted or crocheted things I can make for them as a newborn, but I can plan ahead for winter and the sizes they should be in by then!

I've finished the massive blanket for my colleague, I don't have e anywhere I can take a decent photo of it, so here is a still I grabbed from the "unrolling" video. I am very happy with this blanket, and hopefully, my colleague will be too!

After finishing the shrug yesterday, I had some of the yarn left over, so I decided to make myself a bag with it.
I sewed a liner, then made the bottom with a , which I attached to some cardboard to give it some stability, and then once the bag was long enough I attached it to the closure.
I am really happy with how this came out, but I want to add something to it to make it more interesting - and I have no idea what to do! Suggestions welcome!

I finished off this balloon sleeve shrug this morning and is for a friend. I based this on the balloon sleeve shrugs I made a couple of last year, and I used the yarn I took from the dress, which I turned into a jumper earlier this year.

The only downside to making clothing for other people is that I can't try it on them as I go like I do when I make things for myself. Fingers crossed it fits when she tries it on!

The bees are done, and instead of fish I made balls to go with them. I tried making a fish, but it looked a bit sus, so I went with balls instead.
The last pic is the event these are being sold at, so if you're in the Sale area tomorrow and you're looking to spend some money to help animals, head on over!

10 catnip-stuffed bees done! I would have made more than 10, but I have run out of the black yarn.
However, I have found a nice fish pattern, so I am going to make some of those to fill the void.
These are being made for a colleague to sell to raise money for a cat charity, I forgot to make a note of the charity but I will find it out so I can make a donation on payday myself!

I've been asked by a colleague to make several small bee cat toys. This is my practice bee to make sure my re-sized pattern works, I will do the wings slightly differently and have them much closer together, but besides that, I am happy with my little friend!

The real ones will have some catnip in them but I'm not 100% sure how I should put it in there - should it be in a little bag inside the stuffing or can I sort of mix it in with the stuffing?

I've been making a few bits for my work desk this week. This is the latest one - a mat to sit under my keyboard!
The keyboard clacks too much when it's just on the desk, so I whipped up this granny rectangle to sit under it, and its great!
I'm now working on a desk tidy basket to put all the little bits and bobs that sit on my desk in, so they're all contained.

It's Sunday evening, and another bag is done! The strap is still on another bag at the moment, but I'll change it over when I use this.

I've done one side with colour and the other plain black, so I have a couple of options, and I've used a zip to help with this rather than having a flap like my other one.

Last weekend and this weekend, my crafting work has fallen into a bit of a routine now that I have a few large projects ongoing, which I quite like.
I have a long project I will take to work at the day job and work on before I start and during breaks, then I have another long project at home.which I'll work on in the evenings, and then at the weekend I'll do smaller things with the aim of finishing them before I go to bed on Sunday.

Carolyn,

This weekend, I've made these coasters with some of my leftover yarn. These are coming with me to work, as I try to make my desk space a bit more "me". I also have a peace lily, which is currently just one leaf, and I'll see how she fairs, and then I have some lego daffodils, which I will put together on a lunchtime.

Sometimes, I get ideas out of nowhere in the early hours of the morning, and I have to make the thing come to life - this bag is one such thing.

This bag is made of a single granny square, which is folded like an envelope and stitched down. I had trouble with the lining, so I just did a simple rectangle instead. It's not perfect, but it will do for me!

I love how the back looks, so I might just use it back to front, so the back is what people see!

This morning, I added a few rows to the jumper I finished last week as I've worn it a couple of times and found it was a tad shorter than I'd intended but now it's spot on!

Carolyn, to crochet

After unravelling a massive jumper I made ages ago and never wear, I used about 1/3 of it to make this short jumper.

It's got a nice wide neckline and has a lot of space in the body. I'm very happy with how it came out, and it didn't take forever to finish off!

It's based on the Wastelander Shrug pattern from Handmade by Lauren Lewis, I've used it a few times, and it's never let me down!

I don't have anything finished to share this weekend, so here's a satisfying increase line on the raglan cardigan I'm currently making!

Elephant baby blanket - just finished for my colleague to give to her future niece!

It's hard to get a full picture of a blanket. This one is just under 1 meter square and has a lovely little elephant in one corner.

If you'd like your own for yourself or a tiny person in your life, get in touch!

I really like these two colours together, but I'm finding it hard to get a photo to show them as they look to me - the colours are "plum" and "peacock"

This is a hat I've made as part of a set for a belated birthday gift for a colleague, once the snood is finished I'll get photos of them together and see if I have more luck getting the colours to look right in the photo!
