The most ridiculous thing about cop procedural shows is when they ask where a person was, and what they were doing at a specific time the person always has perfect and immediate recall. I'd be desperately trying to remember what day of the week that was, and trying to open my phone calendar. If I was the cop, I'd immediately be suspicious of the person who remembered exactly where they were and what they were doing.

@luna_le @carorackete @dielinke würde halt gerne wieder die Linke wählen, aber ich könnte den sechs Ukrainer*innen, die bei mir wohnen, nicht mehr in die Augen sehen.
Mag sein, daß einzelne Linke (du?) eine andere Haltung haben, aber die Parteilinie ist immer noch "keine Waffenlieferungen" und "verhandeln".

@luna_le @carorackete @dielinke Grundsätzlich finde ich im Interview vieles richtig, was Carola und/oder Martin sagen.
Halt nicht zum Umgang mit Rußland. Man sitzt immer noch der Illusion auf, man könne mit Putin am Verhandlungstisch vernünftig reden und er würde sich an irgendwas halten. Er glaubt an Stärke und militärische Überlegenheit und das ist mMn die einzige Sprache, die er versteht. Hintergrunddiplomatie ok (findet auch statt), aber den Fokus sehe ich militärisch.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in a relationship?

Mine might sound kind of dark in relation to the question, but here goes:

People change, and they should, it's part of being a person. Some people are lucky, and they change in the same direction, but some don't, and that's okay too. There's no shame in leaving a relationship or changing the nature of a relationship that no longer serves you. We are all taught that every relationship, whether romantic or friendship, is supposed to last forever, but nothing is forever, and forcing something that no longer works, just ends in anger and bitterness. Knowing when to let go is as important as knowing when to hold on through a rough patch, and how to know either of those things is the most cliché advice of all, COMMUNICATE.

    yesterday the US & Europe contributed aircraft and firepower (Navy and Air Force) to “help” shoot down Iranian missiles and drones — you know in addition to the massive “iron dome” defense system that we pay for.

    @RickiTarr i remember an ad for Renault Kangoo (was one of the first with a slide door on both sides);
    Two bankrobbers running out of the bank, throwing a bag of cash into the open slide door, driving away joyfully; not realizing that the other slide door was open, too, and they threw the cash out. End scene, a homeless guy sits with the bag of cash in his lap and a very happy face at the side of the road.

    What is a little white lie you were told as a child, that you believed for too long?

    I was way too old when I figured out a human couldn't actually get sucked down a drain or flushed down a toliet. I used to cling to my little brothers, and pull them out of the bath any time my Mum would pull to plug.

    • Same with latin, if you don't learn latin you might just as well quit all education and sleep under a bridge
    • Without a university degree you have to do slave work for little money (tbh, probably true, but also true with a degree)
    • if you smoke marihuana, next thing you know you're found dead in a trainstation toilet with a needle in your arm

    Habt ihr euch schon mal überlegt, wie nervig Masto für Blinde wäre, wenn mehr als die Hälfte der bebilderten Tröts unverständlich wäre?
    Ich wäre als Blinder richtig pissig, wenn das so wäre. Wenn das so wäre, müßte ich annehmen, daß die Mehrheit auf meine Existenz scheißt, weil gibt ja schon genug Sehende. Also, insbesondere bei Leuten, die vorgeben, daß ihnen Solidarität etwas bedeutet, würde ich Doppelmoral vermuten.

    Heute vor 79 Jahren wurde der Kommunist und Widerstandskämpfer Georg Elser im KZ Dachau ermordet. Er hatte gehandelt, aber sein Attentat am 08.11.39 auf Hitler und die NS-Führungsriege scheiterte knapp.
