Considering that there were attempts last year to ban drag shows and to pass a don't say gay law, yes, I'd say this is part of an overall strategy of attacking lgbt people. It just so happens that transgender people are the primary focus.
I agree. And I hope people don't ever forget that much of the unreported story around drag queen reading hours specifically was that gay men were intentionally taking some of the heat off trans & other queer kids and teens by making themselves targets instead.
