So far, I’m honestly enjoying the new Doctor Who more than any other iteration of the series since practically forever. Jinkx was perfect casting for a Who villain. The camp tone is lovely. And the general note of positivity is just what I need these days.

Is your and/or facing the cliff combined with other downward pressure? We could be facing a pivotal moment in as the landscape faces remarkable forces for/of change, across ( not just but including of course, with and ) and cultural shifts, politics generally, social-emotional development in Society, and so much more ... Here is the thing. It's going to work out. But put on your seatbelt, it might get a little bumpy.

@design_law Am I alone in thinking that this should not meet the initial requirements for something that is patentable? Additionally, it invites qualification by litigation due to ambiguity which is problematic from multiple points of view.

    @AAKL @zdnet ... I sense it's like a pendulum, with a razors edge at the neck of society - it'll swing over one way then the other -- I pray we survive. If we do, we will come to realize that there is a truth in human creativity that isn't the same as creative synthesis and reconstitution.

    Original voices should (must!) be treasured, as with original creative works from sensing, feeling, human minds.

    @AAKL @TechCrunch @kylelwiggers Isn't this just more confirmation of the same? Anything capable of providing a truth can also be used to provide an un-truth ... and whatever context and format that takes place is truly irrelevant.

    Brings to back into mind the thought that is introducing 2 new "class" of "bugs" in prompt engineering (1) and even in the generation of results (2) themselves ... although (2) is far more potentially malevolent and obfuscated by its very nature.

    @kylewritescode @cliffwade I like it, as a starting point... I'm sure you're familiar with fark.com? an interesting parallel and a platform to learn from. I'd like more than a headline, image and snippet tbh maybe a tag/category and definitely a published or updated date. Also if the intent is to attribute/connect the social network of individuals posting, and share thought leaders or reliable news posters (which I think is beyond great) then add a link on the page near the aforementioned date.

    @ultimike thanks for this.. it looks interesting, but I personally don't ever subscribe to a service I can't use first. Call me old fashioned. That said, I have clients who will - and given all the facts (including that I can't personally provide insight yet) they will approve this for their sites to try it out... That is, given the service I provide (I have a fairly robust internal customized foss monitoring & notification service) - - if that internal service doesn't scratch the itch...

    @AAKL @seattletimes WoW (pun intended) .. Microsoft will then own Blizzard (Activision means Pitfall! Pac-Man Asteroids +), not to mention GitHub and dozens of other notably significant brands, technologies and operations. They're like the GE of our increasingly digital universe ... Wonder what happens when everyone is seeing AR, if we get there before they split as GE did in July. Microsoft is definitely playing the long game, time will tell how well.

    ... they are ALSO another way to create vendor-lock (er, I mean, value-add) for established browsers, and Big Tech. Not the technology, the implementation. How Big Tech implements these solutions matters - and since You are the Product, they want to ensconce you safely in the ecosystem that they control and profit from...

    @chx @b0rk everyone (ok, most, u have to be open) who has ever met webchick has come away better for the experience. @webchick ... And anyone who has ever read (& understood) some of Larry Garfield's PHP work has come away better for the understanding. (since I saw him in-thread as well) @Crell ... I agree role models are another archetype, but the big idea might go beyond that a bit and put that out of scope. Maybe a new illustration? There are lots of different types of people in a network...

    @Lockdownyourlife ... great point about these "legacy" type accounts. I've dealt with this firsthand, and gotta say that while I never expected such accounts to stay around 'forever' it does change things to consider they will likely disappear on a shorter cadence. Had a collegial conversation a few years ago about legacy accounts like POTUS as well, and I suspect this is the true target of this new effort, with regular folks as collateral damage in one way or another.
