Happy to announce the (official) launch of Mobifree. The @mobifree NGI Pilot Project focuses on the development of ethical mobile software, prioritizing the digital rights of users, including privacy and freedom of speech.

NLnet co-founder prof. dr. Frances Brazier has received a knighthood for her exceptional contribution to society.
With her contribution to NLnet Brazier promoted IP-connectivity in the Netherlands and helped bootstrap the open internet in Europe. Later, in 1999, she co-founded @nlnetlabs for long-term research projects.
We congratulate Frances with her well-deserved Knighthood and want to thank her for the important work she has done for the open internet in general and NLnet in particular.

Andrew "bunnie" Huang will give a webinar about his project IRIS (Infra-Red, In-Situ) inspection of silicon. A project to facilitate the non-destructive verification of silicon chips.
He'll give a short talk about the project but will leave most of the time for a Q&A as he is interested to hear what people think about IRIS.

In a new round of funding 41 projects have received an NGI Zero grant. It is great to see so many people working on free and open source building blocks for the digital commons.

Interesting funding opportunities from @openwebsearcheu. The project has launched two new open calls for grant applications. Researchers and innovators are invited to submit their ideas and can request funding between 50.000 and 150.000 Euro.
