Go check your backups.

@rebeccafinn It sounds a good enough reason for it, really. All things should prompt one to check backups.

Having a charge-the-collection day. Every time I do this iPod I forget it's a HD based machine until partway through it fires up the drive with a noise that sounds like the ones that early morning huntsman spiders make when they click to each other on the walls.

NanoRaptor,
@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social avatar

@jason Apparently that's the sensible thing to do with LiIons. I like to pull them out, charge to 100% then run them for a bit like normal too. I'll probably take this iPod on a few walks over the next couple of days before putting it back on the shelf. Did my old iPad 2 and read a few things on it recently.

And then pack them away anything over 50%

@TomF it's a little known fact that since Australia is down-under, drop bears actually drop up

It's always a pleasure to open an addition to the collection and find it's brand new inside.

@indigoparadox I have two old towers full of incense. I still fire them up years later and they pump out the patchouli.

@ecn I saw that after posting, and giggled.

I’m too far north for Aurora Australis ☹️

NanoRaptor,

@georgeharito I'm too far under very well settled-in clouds and rain. boo.

Overheard today someone referring to the cybertruck as an Elon P76 and it just tickled my slightly obscure Australian motoring history gland.

NanoRaptor,
@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social avatar

@otte_homan Yeah, by all accounts the P76 was a really good start, it just looked kinda weird to .au eyes.

NanoRaptor,
@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social avatar

@darryl_ramm Tesla claims 56 cubic ft in the back of the cybertruck, and the P76 wasn't that far behind considering it was a sedan, at 36.

Well, by and by, way after many years have gone
And all the war freaks die off, leavin’ us alone
We’ll raise our children in the peaceful way we can
It’s up to you and me, brother, to try and try again
So hear us now
We ain’t wastin’ time no more
‘Cause time rolls by
Like hurricanes runnin’ after the subway train

NanoRaptor,
@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social avatar

@Cdespinosa I don't think I will ever not be thankful you introduced me to the allman brothers.

NanoRaptor,
@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social avatar

@SirTapTap Yeah there's a bit of that vibe.

NanoRaptor,
@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social avatar

@jimmylittle @SirTapTap it is! And it’s a thing that amazes me regularly about this iPhone in my hand right now compared to what we needed in the 90s to even approach that. Apple have seemed so good at getting that across well, and it’s just so odd to me how strangely hamfisted in symbology the crush ad came out.

ADHD meds end of week 2 note.

My whole sense of time is different.

I don't come home from work, do a few amusing things then oh shit it's midnight, time to sleep. It's fit in a whole evening of visiting family, bun time, reading, catching up with folk online, and it's only 10:20pm and it feels like a normal whole weekend's already fit in. Free time used to fly by, now it's savoured fully.

Also medicaiton still way variable and peaky, but may change Monday.

NanoRaptor,
@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social avatar

@domi @noelle Goodness, yeah, there are some strange multiplier effects going on - like being just a little bit down in sleep on dex is REALLY hard. Feels like I've pulled two allnighters in row if I missed just a couple hours the night before.

NanoRaptor,
@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social avatar

@noelle @domi Oh! Is there a link with tomatoes too, or just citric acid especially? I had a thought that the two times the morning dose didn't really seem to kick in much were ones I had a big old mass of tomato for breakfast. Not enough for more than a "huh, I wonder..." but if others had experience....

NanoRaptor,
@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social avatar

@flyingsaceur @domi That might be part of my really good results, in a way.

I had an epiphany moment in 2009, an Eckhart Tolle moment, where everything suddenly changed. More than a decade of anxiety/depression just washed away. It's one of those life-changing moments, but I think was also a really good prep for these last couple of weeks.

Allowing the medication a great bedrock to start with.

NanoRaptor,
@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social avatar

@websterleone Excellent! And yes. That's the absurd bit (apart from all the other absurd bits, but perhaps that especially)

NanoRaptor,
@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social avatar

@Zyfdnug It's only folk who did similar that got me to take it seriously!

Near everything else I'd read was written from the point of view of non-ADHD folk talking about their experiences of watching kids or relatives changing and not being the same person after.

@garthbeagle @freehours9 @likesoldmacs Ha - one of my MDDs is full-volume boot chime all the time. I have to hold my finger on the speaker to dampen it lest it wake the neighbours.
