When the winds picked up, my husband spirited me off to the Wind Harp Tower in Sourh San Francisco to make some field recordings. He had a good mic with a wind guard—my recordings were way too scratchy with noise. But I did get some good pictures.

As @chrisnoessel asked, I don't know where he's keeping those or what he plans to do with them; but here's one of my videos from yesterday with updated audio from a visit a few years ago.

Looking up at the rusted steel Wind Harp Tower in South San Francisco. Wispy clouds pass by in the sky above it. The ridges in the uprights and the barred arches generate an eerie moaning noise in the wind, occasionally making secondary tones or little clanging noises of a loose piece of metal rhythmically vibrating.

Travel always weirds me out, and we're not even leaving soon. I should either take a walk for exercise or put together a packing list for our trip. Currently stuck between the two. I can probably do the one after the other though, right? Unless I want to get something on my list of chores that don't need to be done before we leave. How about that?

You know that feeling when you get up late and waste the morning, so at noon or 1 you feel like giving up on accomplishing anything because you’ve “already wasted the entire day”? I’m feeling like that with this week, and possibly with all of March. Maybe the year, to be honest. Might as well just slide into the next decade while I’m at it, with an iced coffee in one hand and my phone in the other…

@chrisnoessel Oh, I assumed these were at least partly made of chocolate—filled with Hershey's syrup, from the color of the aorta/vena cava, with white chocolate ventricles...I guess I don't have much experience with human hearts in person (Ka Li Ma.)

I accidentally went by the anti-abortion "Rally for Life" on my exercise walk today, and saw our (vocally hateful) local Catholic Archbishop Cordlione being escorted on the sidewalk past me. His bodyguards gave me the stink-eye, which I returned, but I still moved to avoid getting run over. With the exception of a few choice expletives I behaved civilly—the last thing any of these people need is to feel MORE falsely oppressed.

Overall, not the way I'd recommend to raise your heart rate.

Occasionally while making , I’ll sketch a concept that turns out not to be as critical to the whole as I imagined when I first drew it, and that bit will get omitted from the final. Sometimes I’m sad to lose these little things, but with the public diary that is social media, I don’t really have to.

@queersamus Results are skewed, due to the Three Stooges Comedy Density distribution model: there must be more honks and shoos to balance out the sheer comic intensity of the mimimi. (Hypothesis: More mimis make the comedy denser and therefore, even rares.)

Charts of two models of comedy distribution. Figure 1 is the Expected Quantity Based Model, which is a Venn Diagram with HONK or SNORK as the center in common with both SHOO and MIMIMIMIMI. Figure 2 is the Actual Density-Based model, which shows a sine wave of Comedy Density, with "HONK or SNORK" at the high, "less" Comedy density position, "SHOO" at the middle, "Baseline" density, and "MIMIMIMI" at the low, "more" dense position.
