That's something I'd love a reporter covering this spam wave to know: Discord is being used to coordinate illegal activity, and discord has no mechanisms for people to report abuse.

abuse@ and support@ emails are dead ends, and their contact form has no "report abuse" option that works. Reporting it via the child safety team also didn't work.

@thgs depends on the package/repo. I think we have a bunch at 1, a couple are 2-3, there’s an 8 (or maybe 7 now?) and one where I don’t think we bother because even at the highest you can go there’s just too much output to be useful.

@kevbob a more accurate question would be where is CN85oh. :) it’s a Maidenhead grid coordinate, a system the PDX Twitter Storm Team over here on masto seem to have adopted from the HAM community. If a class and an enum can equally implement an interface, does that mean it's safe to use them interchangeably when your method type-hints the interface that they both implement?

@simonhamp @Crell I would wager that any such use, with a class or an enum, would be a violation of the interface. The contract in the interface is all you are promised. Nothing more.

Don't learn , they say. It's a dead language, they say. There are no jobs, they add. Learn instead. It's much better. Jobs are plentiful.

I don't know if it's because of this or some other reason, but we have had great success with finding PHP developers and have had an awful time trying to find JS developers. Not that we don't get applicants, but when you get to the interviews, it's like ... not good.

So go ahead and learn PHP.

@ramsey that ui being trash jives well with my recollection of it from a couple years back. Devtools revealed a ton of xhr calls that were timing out iirc.

In 1994 I was an assistant help desk staffer for a short period. Part of the perks of that was that I was added to the lpadmin group and could control print queues and printers. Tonight I solved a home IT request by adding my son to the _lpadmin Open Directory group on his laptop so he can add a printer at school. 30 years. Nothing has changed.

@kevbob not only did he not, he pulled a (stereotypical bad) manager and told me about it verbally late in the day late in the week before I took off for the holidays. Promptly failed to say anything through break, then as he was getting ready for bed the night before going back to school he asked if I was done with it yet. And of course his solution was to just give him full admin. Yeah... no.

    @kboyd it’s been a couple years now I think… at least last spring. It has several other variations that occasionally crop up, “it’s the least I could do”, “don’t mention it”, and “my pleasure”. It’s particularly funny when it doesn’t grok the sarcasm in a “gee thanks Siri” and responds with “it’s the least I could do” after utterly failing to understand some request.

    @kevbob ugh. Been there, but with chipmunks, so probably not quite as bad. But yeah, that will put a halt to grilling plans in a hurry. At least it’s still above freezing mostly, so you can give it a good cleaning some day soon, mine was January or February in MN and had to wait for spring to be able to pressure wash it out.
