Vilnius to Augustów today.

There's a Portal in front of the station building in Vilnius, similar to the one in Dublin/New York that was temporarily closed earlier this month. I'd forgotten there was one here too. It was cited as the first. The first permanent one maybe... there was a similar one between DUMBO in New York and the South Bank in London about fifteen years ago.

The journey from Lithuania to Poland is in two legs. First up, Vilnius to Mockava. The train leaves from track 5 platform 3, reached via the underpass, and is similar to the one from Riga to Vilnius.

It really is wild how far the US is behind the rest of the world when it comes to public transit.

Outside of NYC, Canadian cities have significantly more per-capita transit ridership than US cities ... and transit isn't even that great in Canada.

Heads up #BikeTO. The Cherry Street Bridge is up, closed to all traffic, and fenced off for some reason. You've got to detour all the way back to Leslie if you're coming at it from the South side. It was open yesterday and I can't find any info as to why it's closed or for how long 🤷
