Got out for a workout today and decided this will be my training loop to get ready for the ride on the highways in June. Start at Corktown Commons, up Bayview to Pottery Rd and ride back down to complete a 9.5km lap. I need to get better with elevation so this is a good start.

Thursday I split some starter off for bread, but as usual I've been bumping it along 'til I get some time.

This ramping up bit is sometimes called a sponge and people get obsessive about precise timing & measurements, but you can really just push it along until you're ready – it's very forgiving. Just keep it fed a few times a day and it's bubbly and happy until dough time.

I will probably pull the trigger tomorrow. Fresh bread for toast Monday morning.

@ottaross stretch and fold is pretty sweet tbh compared to kneading for ages, although some find it meditative they say. I do all my pizza dough the folding way.

My "Pro" account is coming up on renewal again and I've got a bit of a bad taste in my mouth after seeing their 20th anniversary celebration post where they advertise 20% off Pro accounts, but oh, that doesn't apply to accounts that have been supporting them since the beginning, only new accounts.

Besides IG, where are posting their now a days and finding a community? Maybe it's just here on Masto?

@tantramar I'm legit pissed off at seeing that tweet this morning still, its stupid. Its $14 savings, which is barely anything, but its the kick in the pants to users who have stuck with them for years and years that annoys me at how short sighted it is. I just looked at my history, it cost $24.95/yr in 2014 which was fair. I'm not the type that needs unlimited storage there, I use other services for that. Maybe its just the push I needed.

I took a 1970s lens to this in 's Woodbine Beach. It's a masterpiece of design, but has clearly seen better days - like when I was a child petrified to jump off the 10 meter diving board.

@deborahh I used to commute back and forth to an office over that bridge and switch streetcars at Broadview. I'd often get off a few stops early just to walk over the bridge and take pictures. I especially miss these old streetcars. The new ones just don't feel the same..
