It's that time of the year ๐Ÿ˜‹ Time for fresh hop beers.

Sprig & Fern's Monohoppily Fresh Hop Hazy singles out just one variety โ€“ fresh , hand-selected from Holmdale Farm in Wakefield and Mac Hops in Motueka.

๐Ÿ˜‹ Lots of citrus, hoppy, bread/doughy and some bitterness + sweetness. Almost like marmalade on toast.

Wondering if I should switch from Mozilla's VPN to Proton's VPN.

Mozilla works flawlessly on Android and Linux desktop, but was a bit of a pain to configure on the CLI.

Anyone have strong feelings about and their ?

(Not interested in any other providers, thanks. Yes, I understand the limits of what a VPN can do. No, I don't need to to work on Mac, Windows, or iOS. Yes, your joke reply is very funny. No, I don't want to run my own.)

From tripel to BA tripel is a tasty journey. Sacre Bleu is a masterpiece.

Luckily I was able to restock this one when visiting the brewery last week.

Tasting notes: https://untp.beer/9dad39d6e9

"Our classic Tripel, Good Lord, further barrel aged for 6 months, with another classic Wallonian Abbey yeast added for complexity.... It further transformed, a shade darker and stronger, less carbonated and more winey."

Fruity & sweetness with a subtle level of sourness, but not as sweet as I was expecting.

The 5-year anniversary of Liberty's Prohibition Porter also ushers in a new era.

You can see the difference between the first version from 2017 and the current one. Does it matter? No of course not!

This 5th edition (in 2020 and 2021, the series was "on a break") is just as tasty: full-bodied chocolate, vanilla, almond and bitter-sweet at the end. This one is very close to the 2017 original.

@pejacoby @beersofmastodon It's def worth trying... Tasty but way too sweet.

The Wild Turkey BA bar has been set high by Liberty Brewing with its classic Prohibition Porter: https://untp.beer/EG2wD - That one is insanely well-balanced and so tasty.

But it was great to be able to taste one of Rott's brews as these usually don't reach the shores of New Zealand.
