I need your opinions on ALL CAPS.

Is it hard to read, visually?

I have heard yes. But sometimes it makes things easier to read, to me, in very specific circumstances. So I'm conflicted.

Feedback needed!

I'm gonna sneak in some neurodivergent advocacy w my team at work. I have not told them I am AuDHD.

My plan is to have my team create "Manual of Me" documents where each of us lists how we like to communicate, how we like to work, how we like to recieve feedback, etc. See link for examples.

My question is, what would you include to highlight your neurodivergent needs? Can be a Q the whole team has to answer.

Any other autistic kin struggle with speech and articulation when they were little?

I'm recording an instructional voice-over today and my mom just told me I used to have a lisp when I was little. That's news to me!

I definitely notice sludgy articulation around L and S sound as an adult. Outside of voice over recording, I could not care less about my articulation. But it is interesting!

Hmm is this an ND thing?

Ever since I can remember, I have strongly disliked pranks and have been against humor at the expense of someone else (making fun of them).

I know nice NT people also feel this way but I've felt this strongly since a very young age. Anyone else?

I am absolutely savoring the last few cold weather days. Opening all the windows to make it as cold as possible inside, putting on my comfy sweatshirt and leggings, making hot tea. I don't want it to end 😭

I've been nervously wanting to switch to a new email address. My lifelong inbox is a junkyard, the unread count meaningless. But it's connected to so many life things!

I decided to start small. Made a new email & I'm moving over important stuff little by little. Plus, swore off subscribing to more than like... 5 newsletters.

BUT THEN! caught myself wanting to sign up for more newsletters that interest me! Do I trust this feeling? Does this lead to destruction? 😰 I dunno!

I'm so exhausted and drained.

If you are a fellow tired person, I highly recommend bubble baths with this stuff!!

I wasn't expecting much but I was surprised at how relaxed I became! I turned into a bowl of jello. In a good way.

What is your favorite depression food? Or low-spoons food? Or autistic comfort food? Also has to be cheap 😓

I need ideas. I have a lot of food allergies so I'm really restricted but that doesn't mean hearing about other food doesn't give me ideas.

Boosts welcome!

Are Microsoft and Adobe really the only ones making software that can create #accessible tagged PDFs?

I would rather not use either of them!

Please boost this question 🔁

I can't find any alternatives :(

Told my autistic ADHD best friend I think I'm autistic and have ADHD after voraciously researching and she said:

"yeah, i've been waiting"

I wish online stores advertised "slow shipping".

I do not need to instantly recieve my package, truly!

I would rather the order be accurate, workers not be rushed, and all of us agree on realistic expectations and sustainable practices so they become commonplace.

Meds update:

Even though they say it goes through your system in 8-10 hours, I know it lasts longer in mine.

Day 2 in a row was different than day 1, and I did not feel the meds winding down at the end of the day like I did on day 1. It was not ideal so I'm thinking I may need to take it only every other day, or 2 days on, 1 day off.

And I'm even taking a half dose, 20mg!

My body is super sensitive and my liver is slow though so this probably is not everyone's experience.

This day started out nicely boring and then out of nowhere became hard.

On top of the other stuff, my pup is now with my ex for 10 days, and I'm sad. I never wanted a life where I would have to give up my animals.

Yesterday I had an epiphany: I absolutely identify with PDA.

I hadn't really looked into PDA very deeply, until I came across someone explaining their experience that resonated (v loudly) w me!

This person explained they have big goals and dreams but the thought of actually doing them seems so painful and like the worst possible thing they could do. I feel that way too. It's like PDA poisons my desires.

What does PDA feel like to you?

An interesting question for my @actuallyautistic neurokin.

What was your first special interest?

The very first one you can remember as a kid.

Mine is/was cats, starting at like age 3 I think. Absolutely enamored with them (and still am) and wanted to know everything about them (and still do). 😻

Anyone have ideas for sending free text alerts to a group of like 300 employees?

We can't afford a service so right now we use email to text but it's very unreliable.

These alerts let us lil government employees in my department know when the air is very poor quality so we are allowed to telework instead of commute that day. It's for a good cause!

I cannot understate how important profile images are for me.

I do not know you by your name, I know you by your image. Yes, even though your name is also always right there next to your image.

And if I knew you in real life, I would know you by your face and forget your name embarrassingly often because my brain prunes those neuron connections CONSTANTLY.

I'm sorry!

Came across this sensory rating sheet for an event. This is so helpful! Wish every event had this.

I'm going to try and put disclaimers like this for any event I am involved with in the future.

Having a rough body pain day.

I realized in a moment of crisis that I have no ice packs. So now... I am holding a tube of frozen meat to my neck. This is my life now.

Funny how my whole life I've had long hair, and then after chopping it off to about chin length last year I discovered the feeling of hair on my neck is a HUGE sensory issue for me.

In the chaos of my recent life I've let it get gasp to just above my shoulders and IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS!

This is a gentle reminder that the "enshitification" we are experiencing in the world (the worsening of business practices and services) is a natural and expected outcome of late stage capitalism.

Capitalism is designed to work this way. It is not a surprising flaw or mysterious outcome.

This is the natural course of things, and only a switch from capitalism to something else will "fix" it. The problem cannot be solved by making more laws while still operating from inside capitalism.

What do you like to do while camping?

Everyone seems to have their own camping style.

My style is reading!! There's nothing like reading in a cozy spot in the silence of nature. I also walk around and explore my area with an eye for small details, like pretty pebbles or little flowers. I also do little watercolor sketches of the things I find.

Finally published my blog post about sleep!

I have sleep issues. So everything I have to do in order to sleep, I figured out through trial and error over the years.

Hopefully something I wrote helps someone.

I can tell when I need to lower the volume of something I'm listening to when I feel a kind of tightening in my ear muscles, and/or ringing in my ears, or a slight feeling of stress coming in from my environment.

I also just try to remember to always proactively lower the volume a couple ticks from what i first set it at, to prevent all those sensations.

What are the signs for you that things are a little too loud?
