TIL that mustard plants grow very tall and have purple flowers that bees really like. I planted them because they're a great "grow literally anywhere" plant you can just yeet into the ground and leave to do their thing, and they're great at weed suppression and outcompeting grasses, but I didn't know they'd end up looking nice and making the bees happy too.

... now I'm in the mood to do some guerilla gardening.

@metin visible they are, but what about screen readers for blind people? Will they recognize words with these unicode chars, or just recite the unicode descriptions of individual letters one by one?

On the other hand, these readers handle normal alt text of a pic very well.

Edit: hmm are we sure? The debug view shows the unicode string is readable. That does not mean a screen reader will interpret it as an ASCII string. These accessibility tools are usually not very smart. But I cant find a simple to use screen reader after a 30sec google search.

Hmmm. Write Z80 first, then port to 6502? Write 6502 first, then port to Z80? Write 68000 first, then port to both Z80 and 6502? Write a bytecode interpreter on both 6502 and Z80 and then code to that bytecode?

I guess I'm looking for an excuse to think about writing code instead of, you know, actually writing code.

did you know that the default Windows 10 desktop background is a photo, not a digital effect?

it's a Kvant Spectrum laser projector with Saturn 9000 scanners beaming light into a sheet of transparent acrylic with black cardboard masks.

i recently got a new toy! it's a (civilian) miniature drone helicopter directly inspired by the (military) flir black hornet drone helicopter

it doesn't have a FLIR sensor but otherwise seems (from declared characteristics) very similar in design and handling. also it costs $100 instead of $100,000

Friends, my wife has made cool music for 10 years, but as introverts, we both suck at sales, so it's frustrating.

She has composed and published hundreds of songs, both piano and multi-instrumental, but we rely on pure chance for revenue. She deserves much more.

Si elle n'est pas branchée, le seul risque c'est qu'elle tombe en panne...

Dans l'article, on comprend que ce père ne sait pas non plus utiliser le contrôle parental intégré.

Il faut quand même dire qu'objectivement, les systèmes de contrôle parental sont assez compliqués à mettre en œuvre (testé sur iOS et Windows), avec des bugs/blocages à l'activation bordéliques à contourner.

@fenarinarsa le controle parental n'est PAS une solution. c'est juste de la censure. Et donc c'est injuste et ca se contourne.

Les enfants auront toujours acces a ce qui est caché, au moins par les téléphones des copains quand les parents ne sont pas la.

Le seul truc qui marche et qui permet d'avoir confiance c'est l'EDUCATION.

Et ca commence pas a 10 ans, mais à 3-4-5.

Les écrans, ils les auront, controle parental ou pas. Alors autant que ce soit accompagné.
