@atpfm Is there any chance when you turn the power cable to disconnect from the AVP, it sends a shutdown signal, giving it half a second to clean up and get ready for power disconnect ?

    When you get up so early that there's not even the new choice out yet, I guess you need to listen to an important album of your personal 1001 must listen albums.

    @derthomas The 2022 mix, and new track listing (splitting the album in 2 as was originally intended; one a heavier affair, and another more California/Beachboys/Rem influenced) - it transforms it from 6/10 to 9/10 IMO.
    They got rid of all the fuzz, made it sound like a modern rock album, and the McCarthy track is on the album proper.

    @IceCubesApp I have absolutely no problem with telemetry as long as it's anonymised, and free of all user data. Logging button clicks, time spent on screens etc.
    I assume most apps do it, and can't really see an argument against it if both those restrictions are in place.

    I see some bloggers are throwing their toys out of the pram because Netflix isn't making an app for the Vision Pro, a device yet to prove its worth. Yet don't seem to have the same strong criticism of Apple for being just as "spiteful" in not making iMessage for Android, which absolutely has nothing to prove. Treating big tech companies like a sport team and supporting yours at the cost of reason and objectivity is not journalism.

    @jann I'm not so sure… as an iPhone user, I also message Android users, and so Apple would be meeting me, the customer by adding support. Vision Pro is currently being marketed as an early adopter device. It's a toy for the wealthy. If/when it becomes mainstream, then I would agree with your argument wholeheartedly.

    @daringfireball it’s kind of pathetic that between them, Apple, Google and Facebook can’t / won’t figure out a solution for interoperability. We can securely pay for goods with any merchant using any phone, both online and in the real world. Yet send a text message? Too hard apparently.

    Just spent 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back messing about with my headphones because my Dell XPS (a pathetic excuse for a laptop) for some reason automatically connects to headphones when it's sleep. Wtf Microsoft, Dell? Another

    @onthefencedev Agree. This is a work issued machine. My other laptop is a Mac! The Dell has had a new motherboard, heat sink, screen, and two trackpad replacements in 2 years. I would never touch Dell after this. Windows is awful but I do need it at work for occasional Power BI and Visual Studio usage unfortunately.

    @matt it was quite a prominent screen that showed two previews of the desktop, one with my existing wallpaper, and the other with the new default. It talked about the benefits, the fact they now match up with the screensaver etc.

    @cabel Although I pay for Apple Music, the majority of music I listen to is streamed from iTunes Match. Gradually coming round to the idea that simply buying the music I like is probably better value in the end.
