Update: is being shut down and users are being shunted over to Credit Karma, which is not budgeting software and has almost zero functionality for that purpose. I am now trying from Quicken, which is so far pretty good. It does cost money ($28 per year with discount). More importantly it does not yet have the feature to exclude part of a split transaction from your budget, which was one of my most-used Mint features.

@shippychaos they are apparently only telling people when you log into the site, and even then only intermittently. There was a Times article on it and yet no direct announcement from the company itself.

As a trained scholar of religion who is herself agnostic, I am once again begging you to stop saying silly things about religion, which is a massively diverse phenomenon, culturally and historically.

Violent crowd stormed an airport in Dagestan trying to find the Jews after a flight from Israel landed there.

Seems we've hit the Caucasus pogroms stage of this clusterfuck.

So glad my great grandmother crossed the tundra pulling carrots from the frozen ground and got the fuck out of there.

Holding random American Jews responsible for the Israeli government's actions is antisemitic.

Whenever the Israeli government commits war crimes against Palestinians, antisemitism explodes worldwide, and the Israeli government patently does not give a fuck. Because they still believe the worse it gets for us in the diaspora, the more we'll move to Israel (spoiler: that's no longer how it works).

the obvious answer is unfettered access to weapons capable of mass murder for any american because of a bad faith reading of a 250yo law about muskets from a new country without a standing army

@mathowie As many others have said, you have named the 'how' as clearly as anyone can. The 'why' is toxic masculinity. And we scream it from the rooftops, and nobody listens.

🎵 Dear Non-Jews: You can fight against the oppressiveness of the Israeli state, and work toward the liberation of the Palestinian people, or even think that Israel shouldn't exist as currently constituted, and still acknowledge that Palestine was the historic homeland of the Jews as well as the historic and current homeland of Palestinians. That is just a fact of history and does not commit you to believe anything about the current state of Israel. And it makes many Jews, including many non-Zionist Jews, feel respected around you. Thank you.🎵

Ronald Reagan is the father of today's Republican party: policy, politics, all of it. No one looking at the facts of his presidency can doubt that.

Have you heard the "positive 'or anything'"?

@jsit has been hearing "or anything" used at the end of positive sentences.

For example, it's common to hear it at the end of negative sentences: "I'm not angry or anything."

But this is the possibly new usage at the end of positive sentences: "Just generally -- people tell you you're too sensitive or anything."

If you have heard it, I'd love to know where.

jewishreader,
@jewishreader@sfba.social avatar

@grammargirl @jsit Agree with an earlier commenter that this remains a 'or whatever' construction in all contexts I have heard
