The other day I watched Leave the World Behind and while the general concept of the film was fine I guess and the cast was generally talented there were all these weird Boomer Lib moments in the construction of the characters that made it really alienating to anyone who's not, you know, a boomer lib

Then I go on to Wikipedia and I see that Obama personally gave feedback to the screenwriter, telling them how to make the characters more sympathetic

A pesar de la visibilidad y avances logrados, es importante destacar que aún enfrentamos grandes retos en cuanto a la igualdad y la justicia social de las personas Trans /Nb, hoy somos mas visibles que nunca pero eso tambien trajo mas violencia, el odio y la discriminación siguen siendo una realidad para muchas personas Trans enfrentamos en México, especialmente aquellas que forman parte de comunidades marginadas o en situación de vulnerabilidad.
La lucha contra la ultraderecha con sus teorías de conspiración y sus discursos de odio es un desafío constante que requiere de la participación activa de todes, todas y todos. Es necesario seguir fortaleciendo nuestras redes de apoyo y solidaridad, así como promover una cultura de respeto y tolerancia en nuestra sociedad.

I finally finished reading Bad Habit by @velvetmolotov which comes out in English this May

My wife picked it up in Spain the other month, and read it on the plane back home, crying the entire time

It took me longer to read it, because I kept having to put it down, because it made me cry every couple of chapters

It's one of the best novels of the new wave of trans literature, on the level of Detransition, Baby or Bad Girls, and probably the best novel of the closet. You're a fool if you miss it

Is it worse than us or European investments in Mexico? Definitely not. Is it better? Also definitely not
