What kind of justice system lets a random ass judge fuck with a trial this way? WHY does she even have this case in the first fucking place? Because this is the wanted DOJ result?🙄

@StillIRise1963 He specifically put someone in who he knew was not qualified but wanted it, so she would be owe him. He knew (or more likely his handlers knew) any case arising from anything at Mar A Lago would end up in her courtroom. She understood the assignment.

@StillIRise1963 DOJ followed the law. You have to bring the case where the incident occurred. He kept the docs unsecured at Mar A Lago. GOP knew that Dems would follow the law.

@glynmoody I've never understood the license fee anyway. Like you have to pay a fee to even have a tv, even if you never watch BBC?

In the US, we have PBS - Public Broadcasting Station but no one pays a mandatory fee to support it. (they may get some tax money but not a whole hell of a lot and its not a specific tax). They just get pledges. Pledge month is something. Many jokes about it. But it works.

@woody Literally no idea what any of this means because its written for tech people. So as a non-tech person I have no idea what I need to change or how I will be effected.

Walled gardens, open standards mean nothing to a non-tech person. We need to know practicalities -- -can I use this particular app or not?

@woody Not really actionable when I have years worth of emails in google. Again, PRACTICAL things for real life people. We cant' all just go "nope won't use the stuff we've been using all along for a reason we've been using it." Time to switch, learn the new things, make sure it all migrates. People don't have time or the ability to do that.

Again, which apps will do what. Practical and reasonable taking into account the real world.

@dusnm @woody no, no I don't. I mean people who don't have time to import years from a program, don't have money to pay for a program, and are not tech savvy. Not every gets POP SMPT, etc. They use google because its easy to use without technological knowledge.

@GottaLaff I saw the attack on the spouse. She inserted herself into the discussion. So I am a little less concerned about that. Like him, all she had to do was -- not talk.

But I also don't believe he will ever suffer repercussions when he DOES violate the new gag order.

I realise foreign people often don't understand the perfection of UK democracy, so here's a run-down:

We vote for our MPs in a General Election using First Past The Post, so it's usual for a party with a minority of votes to get most of the seats.

This party then picks the Prime Minister in whatever way it wants. Donors may get a say.

PM is free to give the top government jobs to friends or donors, but they must be given a Lordship if nobody voted them in.

This ensures stable governments...

@_thegeoff I've really never understood that the person governing the entire country only needs to be elected to one district.

I mean the electorial college is a bit weird, but at least the President has to be elected nationwide. (we shall not discuss gerrymandering for congressional districts).

In his new book repeated the about the 2020 election. Then he testified under oath that the election was not stolen. Now the publisher () is suing him for millions in lost profits and damage to its reputation.

    Yes, he does pay his fines, unlike how he treats his lawyers & employees.
