@mcc @GottaLaff IANAL but my understanding is depositions in criminal cases are usually in lieu of testimony when they may not be able to appear otherwise at trial, but if you’re going to put a witness on the stand there’s no guarantee that a deposition must have taken place beforehand.

@fj I wish we had that too. Europe benefits from overall density in having a much more diverse charging network. In the US only Tesla was willing to build out the charging network into rural areas to make EV travel across larger distances possible— as a maker of EVs (and only EVs), they had a much bigger incentive than any other purely charging-company. Now Musk is just throwing his weight around to prove to everyone he’s still the boss.

@jeffjarvis I still think there’s an element in the administration’s calculations where people were just exhausted from the prior administration where Trump had to be front and center always, and the press got used to that and can’t cope with that not being the case now.

    I laughed out loud today when my dentist related a story about filling a cavity in another patient. He was already nervous about the procedure, and there was a bit of noise from road construction outside. Just as she turned on her drill, the road crew turned on a loud power tool. His eyes panicked.
