Me leaving the office: these two things on the #OpenStreetMap need attention, and they're right on my way home.
Me 15 minutes later: why am I walking through nettles looking for some damn spring instead of just biking home?
Anyone with a phone, containing Adreno 3xx, maybe spec. 306/307 model could find some time to help bisect our failing CI? If you do, there is chance for less bug introduced in the future! #postmarketOS#Qualcomm#mesa3d
Contributing to #OpenStreetMap is really rewarding. With #OsmAnd and its live updates you can see your changes on the map about 10-15 minutes after you submit them. A big difference from #mapycz where you wait days for a review and even longer for the change to show up on the map.
@sesivany I see you fell in love with #OSM The live updates are amazing and it got me motivated to contribute to more OSM too. I'm really happy that Seznam cutting off their users will help OpenStreetMaps that much!
@martijnbraam@whynothugo libcamera isn't the application. It's the framework, whats the blocker to deliver great camera based on libcamera? Everything isn't about backend.
At 2:33 am today I fixed the last bug in EGL transparency for X11 code. This means #Firefox and #GTK will be able to use it and stop calling GLX to figure out transparent visuals.
More than 4 years after the first attempt was made.
Approx. 1 year after we (Erico, @rmader , and I) started digging into it. Good night!

@sesivany@pavel@erAck if I had to choose between giving user de-googlified AOSP or pure Linux, in short-term thinking I would say AOSP. In long-term thou building strong Linux ecosystem is the right path.
PostmarketOS blew up on my secondhand OnePlus 6T (it boots to TTY after an update, yay!), so I'm looking for the best way to test GNOME stuff on it again.
Does anyone have a recommendation for the โbestโ way from an upstream GNOME perspectiveโlike, do we have GNOME OS images for it? ๐
I threw Droidian on it because someone suggested I check it out and itโs working alright but it defaults to Phosh, and Iโm not going to package the mobile GNOME Shell stuff myself.
@sesivany@cassidy this is usually postmarketOS problem, where boot.img isn't correctly flashed, but kernel modules are already updated and old version isn't kept. I think #postmarketOS should follow Debian and keep at least previous version of the kernel (and modules) available
I'd like to do command-line application that uses GPU to do some some computation with graphics. (Debayer, maybe more). Need it to work on old systems (Debian 11, PinePhone). What libraries/frameworks should I look at?
@pavel Mali 400 in PinePhone is too old. You need at least PinePhone Pro. Eventually someone could implement rusticl on old mali driver, but I assume you would need recent Debian 13...
Pretty wild to me that the mobile platform that has majority market share in the US, doesnโt allow users to install apps from outside of their own tightly-controlled store, requires all purchases to be served through that store with a platform fee, doesnโt allow users to sideload their own apps, doesnโt allow entire categories of apps like browser engines and game streaming, and doesnโt even allow users to set their own preferred apps in many cases is not a monopolyโฆ but Android somehow is??
@cassidy Yes, you can install "alternative stuff", but you're still owned by GMS rootkit in your phone (if you don't spend energy, time, knowledge, and lot of troubles to install custom ROM). Anyway if you do, forget about banks and "secure" applications which rely on Google proprietary components...
