Is it possible to host a mastodon instance on a subdomain (e.g., social.example.com) and have a regular site on the main domain (example.com, or example.com redirecting to www.example.com), with the accounts all being @ exampleuser @ example.com?

While I want to give kudos to the @osi for the amount of effort they’ve put into the redesign of their website, the license pages are still missing some of the info they used to provide, and some the URL redirects for licenses are wonky.

And then there’s this. Did anyone try loading this in a mobile web browser before publishing it? 🙄

@ramsey with a tiny team and no dedicated web designers on staff we do our best.

Most important: what info is missing from the licence pages? We've added a lot of details that weren't available before, if anything is missing we need to fix that ASAP.

Same for the redirects... We regularly uncover decades of old paths not documented and we welcome reports to fix them.

Thanks @benjedwards @ArsTechnica for clarifying that LLaMa is released with lots of permissions and yet, it's not Open Source as many are incorrectly claiming

Some news from releasing LLaMA2 with a license that allows some commercial use.

Keyword is some.

Don't confuse a limited concession to enter a garden by a gatekeeper with a true common. Open Source has a precise meaning that includes all commercial use, don't let that meaning be diluted.

Our @ed asked a full room how tightly coupled should the training dataset and the trained model be for an "Open" ML? Do we absolutely need the original dataset or would it be enough to have a very good description of it in order to modify a model?
The group discussion was amazing.
