I can’t quite justify the cost to put solar panels on my house yet, but I wonder about just doing a battery that could charge from the grid when costs are low, and I can draw from it during peak hours when costs are high. Is anyone else doing that?

Swift debugging driving me nuts.

I have a multiline file that I’ve loaded into a string using String(contentsOfFile:encoding:)

I'm trying to split the string using “someString.components(separatedBy: "==========\n“)

But it... just doesn’t. I know that particular string does exist in the file multiple times.

If I change the separator to just a linefeed it does split the file into 1600 items just fine. So for some reason it's not finding the "==========\n“ ?

I'm stumped.

Brains are weird.

I haven’t carried a wallet in my back pocket for 5 years or so.

I got out of my car this morning and started walking and my brain noticed my back pocket was empty and was like “hey man you lost your wallet”

ok, the the Rabbit R1... The hardware is great and adorable. The AI that answers questions is reasonably fast, and the one that analyzes photos is pretty good too... but the LAM… OMG no.

To set it the connection to the few services they work with is literally a VNC connection to a VM running some browser. it literally has VNC in the url (https://hole.rabbit.tech/connections/doordash-vnc). No way in hell am I putting my credentials in that for anything I care about.

Moved all of my notes from Obsidian to Bear, and I’m really enjoying it. the sync works well , and the apps UI is nice and responsive (my two biggest complaints with Obsidian). i have lost some functionality (in-line Mermaid graphs, deep frontmatter support primarily) but otherwise this feels like a nice upgrade.
