It's a catchier name than fediverse, it's simpler to understand, and if the way it showcases the rest of the fediverse is as an inferior "product" then why would anyone think to join the "fediverse" instead of the "metaverse"? It's like the mentality of "Mac" versus "PC" where the "Mac" is one single product like made by and under tight control of one single company, and "PC" is literally every other competitor.

There was a proposal to turn my neighborhood's derelict pizzeria into a weed store, but it failed so instead nothing moved into the building and then it became a campaign office, and now it's empty again: a failed pizzeria containing a failed campaign office for a failure mayoral candidate, and the fucker didn't turn off the marquee when he lost.

I think the clear failure here was a lack of vision: they should have proposed to turn it into a weed store and a mcdonalds

All the anti-trans legislation, removal of reproductive rights, etc, IS fascism. If you’re waiting for them to forcibly load you on trains to take you to camps for you to recognize that it’s here, that will be too late.

honestly whenever i see more news about some new bill or law restricting trans people, it still fucking upsets me that people this evil have so much power. that people this evil get any votes at all. that so many voters either don't know, don't care, or support it. why are humans even capable of being so fucking cruel to each other? why do so many people have perfect opportunities to be kind yet actively refuse to? what the fuck is wrong with our species???
